Not finding the votes 09:06am on 02 Jun 2008 Sir Rex #4, is it any wonder you were voted out at the next election? The world doesn't need "leaders" like you who throw tantrums (which is what your entire post is) when their candidate has lost. As a politician, you ought to know better and respect the rules of play in a democratic contest.
And just how did you want Obama to act in Hawaii, when he was growing up in what is still a holiday destination? He was a young man then, raised by a single mother and his grandparents, and he has turned out to be quite the phenomenon that the whole world quite readily admires.
Please don't confuse admiration with bias! Admiration is something one EARNS! It is never automatic. And it is earned by deeds.
A simple comparison of how the Obama and Clinton campaigns were run - with the latter now steeped deep in debt, having discounted the caucus states, and then trying to change the rules in the last minute - says a whole lot about how each candidate would run their administration. And coming hot on the heels of the failed and embarrassing administration of George Bush, I'll take Obama's any time. And so will millions of others.

Haunted by Iraq 08:56am on 20 May 2008 Chewbaccadefense, Keith Olbermann did come on quite strong against George Bush, but I have to disagree with you on this. I believe Keith was absolutely RIGHT in everything he said! George Bush LIED to the American public about Iraq; He lied to the world when he sent Colin Powell to the United Nations to present "evidence" about the WMDs in Iraq.
George Bush IS THE embarassment, and not Keith Olbermann - who has simply called him out (as nobody else wanted to do it!, apart - of course - from Obama and those few who were against this illegal war from the start).
I wish there were more Journalists like him around. This way, no leader would get a free ride.

But seriously, Obama doesn't need W.A. in the GE. It only has 5 electoral votes! Only 5! So he can give it a wide bath if ever he wanted to.
The Lady's not for turning 12:44pm on 08 May 2008 A bit of common sense is called for to all those who keep arguing that Obama can't beat McCain, and that only Hillary can!
Well, he's beaten the Clinton juggernaut, hasn't he? Are you then saying that McCain is a bigger juggernaut than Clinton? Obviously not!

Why would the likes of Rush Limbaugh continuously urge Republicans (of his ilk) to come out and vote for Hillary? Do you suppose it is because they love her because she's the best thing that ever happened to America? No. It is because they know she'll be a much weaker opponent against Sen. McCain. Which is why they voted for her in drones in Texas, Indiana, etc.

The movement Sen. Obama has created, the likes of which has never been seen anywhere else on this planet, will easily defeat the so-called Republican war machine. Why? Because it goes to the very roots and foundations of Democracy - power for the people by the people! Think about it.

Those who delude themselves into thinking that Obama's race will work against him should really come out of the racist closet and be more open-minded. The evidence to the contrary speaks loud volumes for itself. Over 15 million have voted for Obama, the vast majority of these are white people like myself. And even more will do likewise come November!
One's race is not something you select by choice, but is your God-given right. To be racist is not only self-limiting but also condemns the Creator for giving us diversity.

Despite his shortcomings, Barack Obama is by far the best candidate out of the remaining three contenders. Just look at the positive reaction he is already having in the rest of the world! He is the only one of the three who would restore America's image abroad, an image that has been completely shattered by white Presidents (including Bill Clinton!)

It is time to change the page indeed and to stop living in the past!
The End 09:11am on 07 May 2008 A big night for all true Democrats - all those who put in a lot of hard work to seal the deal for Obama! All I can say is THANK YOU!

The Clinton camp are now talking of using the nuclear option on May 31st. It is a real shame when a politician is so deluded as to believe that she is bigger than the Party, and that the Party will change the rules to suit her during injury time!

Florida and Michigan will be seated at the convention, but not on Clinton's terms. Further, a candidate only needs 2025 delegates to clinch the nomination, and not the new unilateral Clinton figure of 2208! In fact, it would take a whole article to list the number of times the Clinton camp have tried to move the goalposts during this race. It is now time for the curtain call. This Clinton circus must now end - or be ended.

News is going round now that Al Gore has declared that he is now ready to make an endorsement. Obviously there are no prizes for guessing who this will be... as sensisble figures in the Party are now calling for unity.
Obama casts Wright adrift 2:41pm on 30 Apr 2008 Just when Obama was crusing to an Indiana and North Carolina win, the indefatigable Jeremiah Wright (who had almost disappeared off the political radar screen) suddenly resurfaced - like a cruise missile that is now set to dampen what was a sure deal clincher for Obama!

Was it just coincidence? Nothing in politics ever is.

Unfortunately for Barack Obama, he is fighting the most clandestine of political opponents. No, not the Republican John McCain, but fellow Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Much has been said about the incredible destructive power of the Republican political machine. But this same machine was completely gassed out when it was set against Bill Clinton. And why? Because the Clinton political machine had bigger and sharper teeth that chewed up anything that dared stand in its way. And now it has been unleashed yet again - this time not against its traditional Republican opponent, but against its very own sibling, a fellow Democrat. For, as the Clintons would have it, Pennsylvania Avenue ain't big enough for the both of them (Clintons and Obamas)!

Why am I focussing on the Clintons, when the story is clearly about Rev Jeremiah Wright?
I did say that in politics there is no such thing as coincidence. Someone is always holding that smoking gun. And yes, this time round, it is the same political machine that unleashed the original videos of Jeremiah Wright that has once again resurrected his eminence - with one motive in mind... to defeat Barack Obama in both Indiana and North Carolina. Where is the evidence for all this?

This has plausible deniability written all over it - which is why it is no very apparent to the discerning.

Was Senator Obama right in denouncing Rev Wright this time round?
You bet he was! This is someone the Obama campaign tried so very hard to get him to remain quiet, knowing full well what the repurcussions would be. But oh no, Wright just had to tell his side of the story! Frankly, he deserves even more contempt and condemnation for his twisted and bloated ego, claiming to represent the entire Black Church. And even worse, for single-handedly doing the most amount of harm to the candidacy of his most prominent church member. Some pastor he is. Whatever happened to leading from the front (pulpit) by turning the other cheek.

Well, it's now up to the Indiana voters. Will they be hoodwinked by the American mainstream media to vote for a self-confessed liar or to vote for change they can believe in. Like Barack said when he was asked, this remains to be seen.
What next? 09:12am on 24 Apr 2008 In response to Politicsisfun, it would be a grave mistake for Obama to have Hillary as his running mate! Hillary is too greedy for power, and will not stop until she is the POTUS! Placing someone this devious (who does and says anything to win) just a heartbeat away from the Presidency simply means she will do anything to get her ultimate prize. Several people died under mysterious circumstances when the Clinton impeachment proceedings were under way. That's all I'm saying.

An Obama - Bloomberg ticket, or even an Obama - Rendell ticket, would be a better bet!
What next? 09:05am on 24 Apr 2008 The popular vote argument is just more hogwash from the Clinton Campaign! It is the delegate count that matters - period! And they can NEVER win that. So their only strategy is to be the irritating fly, hoping that this will persuade a few more Super delegates to take their side. Unfortunately, the cost of all this to the Democratic Party is steeply rising.

It is time for any right thinking super-delegate (since they are the ones who will decide this race) to man up and take their fly swat out!
Clinton's scrappiness 1:56pm on 23 Apr 2008 And yet many Obama supporters were left disenfranchised in the urban areas, where his support was strongest, what, with all the machines breaking down and no one available to fix them for hours!! This is what we call election rigging (in what is meant to me the world’s strongest democracy)! Hillary has done so much damage to the Democratic party, and so much so that a lot of this will be irreparable before first Tuesday in November! But she isn’t entirely to blame for this. Much of the blame also lies in the hands of all those so-called superdelegates, who have been sitting on the fence, chicken enough to not take a stand – people like Al Gore, John Edwards, Gov. Phil Bredesen of Tennessee, and many others… who would rather proclaim from the pulpits how this increasingly negative race is destroying the chances of electing a Democrat President, only pointing a finger by implication to Senator Clinton as the cause, but not putting a conclusive stop to the skulduggery by endorsing the obvious unassailable winner, Barack Obama. The wimp charge clearly sticks on these superdelegates, and they will have only themselves to blame when John McCain is sworn in as the 44th President of the United States!
