A balanced approach to climate change 09:34am on 24 Nov 2009 If the BBC claims that it operates a balanced approach to climate change, please provide particulars of any instance in the past five years when anyone who questioned global warming was allowed to appear on any BBC programme, either television or radio.
Updated editorial guidelines 3:08pm on 12 Oct 2009 From paragraph 2.2.7: "In the Nations and the English Regions". There you have it: Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland are "Nations", but England is merely a collection of "Regions". BBC policy remains that England is to receive inferior treatment, although of course English viewers will retain the right to pay the same licence fees as the favoured inhabitants of the "Nations".
Is race a factor in Obama protests? 3:01pm on 16 Sep 2009 I expected that sooner or later it would be declared that any criticism of President Obama amounts to racism. I'm only surprised that it's taken as long as eight months before it happened.
QE lives on... 09:30am on 06 Aug 2009 How is "quantitative easing" a new idea? Wasn't it called "open-market operations" when I was an economics undergraduate long ago?
A questioning climate 1:47pm on 20 Feb 2009 Ah, how this brings back memories of my time as a graduate student in the 1970s, when anyone who questioned global cooling was abused and denounced. The pet term of the time was "instant glaciation": meaning that the next Ice Age would come upon us within 2,000 years, which would be "instant" in terms of previous history. Now not only does everyone deny that they ever believed in global cooling, but they also claim that no real scientist ever did. I remember, though, how anyone who put forward observations that cast doubt on global cooling was declared a wicked ignoramus; it was a Known Fact that the ice was coming (see all the speeches at Earth Day events in the 1970s), and so any evidence adduced against it must be false.
Do prescription charges make us sick? 11:49am on 02 Oct 2008 "How come the scots can afford free prescriptions, free universities, free school meals, free hospital parking, free elderly care etc etc?"

They can't. It's the English taxpayer that funds them.
A change in the Weather 12:08pm on 24 Sep 2008 Of course, along with the old site, it has removed all references to scientists who dispute the "global warming" thesis. Don't worry, though: in 20 years' time the "global cooling" view will be back in fashion as it was from 1970 to about 1983, and the website will then allow no other opinions; it will also have plenty of tips on how to meet your carbon quota so as to help stave off the coming Ice Age.
UK to give up child rights opt-outs 10:39am on 19 Sep 2008 Once this news gets out, expect thousands of asylum seekers to arrive with their own or with borrowed children that they claim to be their own, and then demand that the whole family should be exempted for detention because of the "welfare of the child". Once they gain their release, they'll move into an area far away from where any left-liberal BBC journalist would dream of living.

Wettest weather? 12:23pm on 12 Sep 2008 Hang on; didn't the believers in the global warming cult assure us that we would now have baking hot drought-ridden Saharan summers for evermore? I'm sorry for all the people who spent lots of money on the drought-resistant plants that they had been told they would need.
