OBITUARY: JOEL TAGGART-BLOG: - PRESUMED MISSING IN INERTIA

I wish to report the passing of Joel Taggart-Blog, presumed lost in a fog of laziness, inertia and general layabout inactivity. Joel had been missing since 29 October, 2009, the last day he deigned to blog to the sports fraternity.

Friends were not surprised at his demise. In recent years, Joel had become ever more increasingly obsessed with enhancing his public profile, whether it was scrimmaging for the crumbs offered by standing in for the Porkmeister Nolan or just being plain stupid by thinking his platitudinous observations on local football matches represented insightful commentary.

Joel's career was one of under-achievement in which he rose (for a time) but without any noticeable trace. He had been given a final opportunity to redeem himself by making a mark with the BBC's Sport Blog (NI). Themes for the Blog were there for the taking: Glentoran in disarray, Derry City in financial meltdown and Ireland cheated out of World Cup qualification. Sadly, he blew it by not blogging on any of these key issues. He will be sadly missed by the cliché-addicted Mangers of local football clubs, notably Linfield & Glentoran, to whom he paid slavering, salivating homage at every opportunity. There will be few tears shed elsewhere.

It is with some regret that we say goodbye to a failed Blogger whose career would have been better and more successfully spent had he been employed by rival sports channels that don't have the BBC's high standards.

RIP, Joel, RIP. You didn't give two hoots and nor do the local sporting public!

I think it's a bit rich for Robinson to characterise TUV supporters as cave-dwellers

Cursory examination of Robinson’s audience, in terms of physical appearance, behaviours and attitudes, plainly shows that there are a significant number of them with clearly defined simian characteristics. Who does this remind you of?

I believe Robinson will live to regret his insult to Allister adherents.

THE LIST GOES ON

- Back pay for lower grade Civil Servants (unlikely to be dealt with satisfactorily because HR Connect are incapable of simple addition).
- Fiddlin' of expenses (unlikely to be addressed as most MLAs have a vested interest in the continuance of the practice);
- Abuse of children by religious organisations of all persuasions, most notably Christian Brothers and their collaborating Lay Teachers (unlikely to be tackled seriously because the Assembly is coming down with a preponderance of hypocritical Altar-Lickers and a Children's Commission with no balls);

Oh, and there's one more item to mention: FAILURE TO GOVERN THE BLOODY COUNTRY!

TOO MUCH FAT IN THE ASSEMBLY [not necessarily a bad thing]

No, not the excessive number of MLAs, but the fact that there are so many puddin' MLAs.

I mention this issue in light of today's Assembly debate on the Health Committee's inquiry into obesity. Looking at the MLA wasters' waistlines, I reckon about 25% of them are clinically obese.

Jim Wells declared on this evening's Evening Extra that obese people die about nine years earlier than people who do not suffer from the condition. For me, that's a positive outcome as far as MLAs are concerned.

Come on all MLAs: eat yourselves to death in your subsidised restaurant.

Slurp, slurp! Guzzle, guzzle!

IS GERRYMANDERING A CRIMINAL OFFENCE?

I believe it is.

Environment Minister Poots is conspiring to manipulate changes to the planned boundaries suggested by the Boundary Commission for Northern Ireland.

I believe Poots's actions are illegal. It is now time for the PSNI to interview Poots with a view to preparing a file for the Public Prosecution Service.

The question is: Will Matt Baggott do what's right OR what's politically expedient?

CORRUPT, DECEITFUL, LAME DUCK, MORONIC, OIKISH, RETARDED

Any or all of these adjectives would hardly describe the actions of the DUP/Sinn Fein Fascist Coalition.

Following DUP/Donaldson's hat-trick of U-turns on P & J pre-conditions since Monday, we now learn that the Fascists are in the process of making a hames of the plan to create eleven new "super councils" ["super" is really not a word that should be used in any Assembly context].

The conditions for a deadly CIRA/PIRA/RIRA strike are now in place and that's exactly what quite a few of the Fascists are hoping will happen.

Forecast: Trouble coming to a head; prepare for elections early New Year.

Answer: When Jeffrey says the abolition of the Full Time Reserve is a P & J deal-breaker.

Well, old smug Jeffrey has now found it to be a XXXX-breaker. I'll bet he's reeling from the tirade he received from Robinson who has now had to disassociate himself from Donaldson's ridiculous on-the-hoof pre-condition.

Drinks all round for Sinn Féin and Jim Allister.

PS: I've just heard Jeffrey's formal U-turn on Good Morning Ulster. Confirmation again that weasel words are now the DUP's stock-in-trade.

When are we going to have an investigation into the murky century-long contract for the use of Windsor Park for international matches, which was signed in 1984 between Harry Cavan & Linfield FC?
