Are our job centres working? 10:07pm on 19 Feb 2009 Job Centres are rubbish. I signed on from July-Nov last year and I was always signed on about 30 mins after the time as stated on the book. There were dozens of staff in the JC but only about 4 of them were behind desks. The most annoying thing was that they never bothered to get out of their seats to shout out (wasn't loud enough) and when 'Mr Smith' was shouted, about 3 men turned up. Why can't they use their initials like Mr M A Smith please

The job centre staff just say 'use the machines' which are useless and the website is useless. I ask for customer service jobs in Leicestershire. What do I get in the search results? Secretarial jobs in Huddersfield!
