On the lunchtime news, David Cameron stood on a pavement and answered questions. He said that everyone deserves a second chance and Andy Coulson would be keeping his job.

Contrast that with our esteemed Prime Minister who goes to ground each time there are questions to be answered.

Listened to Frank Field on R5 today. There's an MP of principle - one backbencher who will not be bought off. He recognises the damage done to those with lower incomes over the 10p tax fiasco and intends to hold the Government to account.

If only they were all like him.....

Agree. The Tories understand very well the enormity of the problem - hence the request for detailed figures - denied by the party in power!

What a day!

Pound down - surely it's imperative that the ongoing reshuffle is completed as soon as possible so that the business of government can be addressed.

Have a feeling that Gordon Brown missed an opportunity here. If Jack Straw had been moved, it might have gone some way to easing the grief and anger expressed by the parents of the French students found murdered.

Many Labour backbenchers who were ready to call for a change of leader will now be asking themselves: "If they're not willing to act to end this, why should I?"

Perhaps they remember the difficult and thankless time William Hague had leading a party when the public was disenchanted?

Will Speaker Martin be held accountable for the money (taxpayers) that he spent through the courts, trying to suppress the details of MPs expenses?

For those of you who feel that Nick is not being even handed in this particular blog, watch ITV news, where the questions asked at lunchtime were more across the parties.
