No surprise here, just like Maggie he'd rather sit back and sacrifice the people who's hard work made this country strong.

As long as his core support doesn’t suffer too much he and Gideon will be happy.

I am no great supporter of the Labour party, but at least they seem to understand the damage that mass unemployment will have on this society.

If the Tories could try and put there maniacal fear of Tax rises aside and treat the labour parties approach as an investment in people and society, then they might mature as a party and leave some of there private boys club mentality behind.

Here hoping that the Westminster lot start the same process, I would love to see some those labour politicians who for decades have represented people who live in real poverty, have their noses pulled out of the trough and held to account for their failure to those who elected them.
The truth about the Labour party is that they has failed Scotland and in many cases worked against the people of Scotland and now people are beginning to see the truth and start to question just what have they done to make life better in Scotland.
I do hope that the days of a guaranteed place in the Westminster trough are over and jobs for the boys mentality is about to end.

Answer the question 08:57am on 20 Jun 2008 So far all the blogs have commented on the pensioner’s bus travel and the performance of the party leaders, this is all very important.
I think you are missing or ignoring the most import point that was raised in the chamber, in reply to Wendy Alexander question on pensioners fuel costs, the FM stated that none of the extra Tax revenue made from the oil price increase was being made available to Scotland and that we where the only oil producer in world with a fuel crises.
Just think what Scotland could do if it controlled its own oil revenue.

I aggree with the comments made by 2# twentyferret, it does seem mad that the age limit is being increased.

This is scatter gun politic's hitting everyone just to get the few who are the real problem, there must be a way of dealing directly with the problem people.

I am sadly nolonger in the age bracket that will be effected by this, but I can understand the frustration of those who are.

I can also see the need to make our streets safer and stop the drunks spoiling life for the decent people of Scotland.

A major rethink is required, dealing directly with the real problem people, not kicking all of us.

Well done for opening this blog, I am glad to see so many measured and legible responses.
Hopefully it is becomming more apparent to all people who care for Scotland, just how poorly its been treated.
Since oil was found we have lied too, cheated and kept in the dark.
The state of Scotlands economy has always been poor and below the UK average, we have suffered massive unemployment and the distruction of our manufacturing industry, under thatcher and all through those hard years we where a major oil producer.
Every westminster leader has squandered the oil reveue on political doctrine, weapons of mass distruction, following america into illegal wars, it is clear that all westminster governments have wasted scottish oil trying to maintain the status of world super power.
There is enough time left to use the resource for the good of those who deserve it and thats the people of Scotland who have so far seen little benefit from the oil.
Talking amongst the few who go on these blogs is not enough, the Scottish media has a duty to report the truth and it should be hard hitting not like that damp squib on TV last night.

Our oil revenue has been wasted by westminster governments to prop up there financial incompetance and their pathetic attempt to be considered as a world superpower.

Just think what we could do with all that revenue, it would not waste it on trying live in a long lost era.

Scotland as a newly refound and regenerated country, would be forward thinking, the revenue would be used to pay for the needs and future of the people of Scotland, not maintain the gentlemen club establishment of westminster/Whitehall, noses in troughs would not be tolerated by the people of Scotland.

I agree with the comments made by 1# this and other important issues are not publicised as well as they should be.
I have no doubt that the media in Scotland is controlled and manipulates the news coverage to uphold the Labour party and the Union, one day their shame will be the main news item.

Scotland must and will have control of its own election procedure, those labour MP’s in Westminster who are working against the Scottish government, the people of Scotland and there own party policy may well be out of a job after the next Westminster election.

Eat up labour boys and girls your snouts are about to be removed from the trough.

So now that Wendy is all for a referendum, does that mean the Constitutional Commission, will now discuss what Sir Kenneth Calman said they would defiantly not be on the agenda, I hope the other members of that parcel of rouges agree.

Sound a bit like knee jerk politics, maybe Brown thinks now is their best time to win a referendum before the SNP show Scotland just what it can achieve if they controlled their own future.

Isn’t it good to see the control westminsters Mr bean has over his wee Scottish lap dog, come on wendy “walkies” bring the poop bags.
