Food for thought 08:49am on 12 Aug 2008 Fair enough, I have misunderstood him, my bad. But I do agree with word4word, whenever I go to a game or cinema here, a small pack of choclate is all I take. It's just not the done thing, to eat hot food in a public place like that.

I suggest that you do your homework in the future before claiming ignorance of 'East Turkestan Islamic Movement'. After all, its activities/movements were already analysed, documented and published by the 'western' intelligence agencies or the likes.

Please do one thing for your readers, find out how many died over the years in the bus bombing campaigns plotted by the muslim militant group. Since you are in China, such information should be easy to dig out, someone must be keeping count, maybe try internet blogs.
Grief and anger 08:43am on 02 Jun 2008 1. 4,000 school children dead (aged between 6 to 18), compare that with total fatality of over 80,000, is that the evidence of weak school buildings? I don't think so.

2. Epic center BeiChuan, 6 top officials, 4 of them met their death, the other 2 were pulled out of rubble, so much for government buildings stronger than the school ones.

3. Death of children, sensational to write about, and it's not only you, chinese media have done just as much.

Being a young mother, I understand parents' grief, but it can be understandingly irrational at times. But for a journalist, you do not have such excuese.

Common sense: Large classrooms made buildings easy to collapse, coupled with class time. A tragic day for all.

Also, what is the point you are trying to make with your article? Are you suggesting someone should go in gun blazing no matter what? well, that's the impression I got from reading all that.

My personal opinion is that, people in Myanmar are doing all they can to help themself, along with their Asian neighbours. Leave them be, and help only when asked.
