Liverpool send out title message 7:50pm on 26 Oct 2008 As a weather hardened pool supporter in Ireland, watching friends and family ridicule the pools attempts withn the premeirship over the lasy 15 years, I can relate to Rafas cautious outlook and his insistance on 'calm'.

Liverpool won the games today and against united by playing football, passing and attacking. No negative blanket defence and hoofing of the ball upfield. This is one of the most optimistic aspects of the wins.

But we need to focus and improve. Keane needs to be more professional and technical. Agger, who I felt was back to his old self today, needs to keep his head unlike his display against Wigan. Gerrard, also returning to his old form, needs to shake off his sluggish start to the season for good.

But I'm smiling, my United and Chelsea supporting friends are looking a bit more worried and I'm looking forward to each game more so than ever.

Well done Liverpool. Nothing won yet but you're playing football, playing as a team and giving your supporters an enormous amount of pride.

Barry saga leaving a sour taste 3:27pm on 04 Jul 2008 You can't really blame Benitez - Liverpool want to challenge for the premiership but he doesn't have the funds that the likes of Chelsea have. He needs to sell players.

he may have talked the talk about Crouch (£15m) but everyone knows he'll only get £9m from Pompey.

I'm not sure if Barry is worth the £18m that Villa are asking but in todays ridiculous transfer climate it may be worth a bargain.

Both O'Neill and Benitez are to blame for the undignified public squabbling but these guys are under sever pressure.
