The Falklands issue 9:45pm on 28 Mar 2009 What I want to say is that before the G20, argubaly the most important meeting for 21 century. Gordon Brown is travel to south america that not really matter with G20 meetings. Where is UK now in the new global order? EU dont want UK, US dont want UK. China dont want UK. UK starts to become same country as south american or african countries in global politic. What a sad day!
US and China's verbal duel 12:01pm on 26 Mar 2009 is there enough room for two military powers off the coast of China? --- what a joke. At the coast of China, shouldnt be chinese military power protecting her own coast? US travel half world to deploy military in front of other countried face seems ok for you. China develop military power seems unexceptable. What a double standard thinking. Military threat is always a two side effect. If US backoff and not deploy Aircraft carrier, Destroyer and F22, then China shouldnt worry that much. This report is more about to promote the Chinese threat within public and help to boost military spending in US and help the company that made the weapons.

When u say that Confucian have strict definitions of social relationships. I think you should understand that its not that son or ruled should cover up the wrong doing for the fater and ruler. The rule is more about take the responsibility at the role you play in the social world. If you are ruled, actually in chinese term of that rule, that means if you are goverment official working for the goverment. You should take full responsibility of your duty. Work hard on your post. As a son, you should take responsibility as a son, looking after parents and take care of their living when they getting old.

I dont think you understand confusious or even simple chinese culture. In chinese culture, work hard on your post is important. Looking after you parents is important. take care of your children's future is important. Looking after your brother and sisters is important. Loyal to your partner is important. These are the real meaning of confusious.
Chinese charm 10:51am on 06 Feb 2009 Just saw the bbc news that saying negative view of china is rise. I think after this year's event. China did very well to keep the rating stable. But I have a question in my mind. The survey said 21 countries participate in the poll, but didn’t give an break down of how many ppl in each country participate in the survey. If the majority of ppl participate are from west and few ppl from other country participate. The survey is biased.

First, I wont do it. I love Hu. Second, if you really have a problem and want to shout to the top leader on tiananmen square, what police do is take you away and give u a warning, then release you. Its same anywhere. Hehe. BTW, I dont think you understand Chinese anyway, so you can't read Chinese forum, blog or even speak Chinese. What do you know? How many corrupted officials been brought down by internet forum in China. Do you know? Wiser people always know how to slove problem. People just shouting freedom and ignore the real progress is anarchism. Simple..
Freedom in China 12:12pm on 04 Aug 2008 Very good report. Most of the points are accurate. I like you post a report with a both side of the story and been objective.

For the old system, people did feel they dont have much freedom. People always work in a same facotry/company for 10,20 years and base on the years they spent, they get a better pay. Also they been give free education, free house, even free schools/nursery for your own child. A factory is so big, even like a small society. This system is gone long time ago and cause a huge problem for people losing their job(Xia Gang). China spent about 10 years try to solve this problem and this problem still exist in some cities.

The new system is pretty much base on earn what you can and look after youself. But for the people left from old system, they still have some benefit which allow them to live without too much problem. Such like medical insurance(Yi Liao Bao Xian), Cheap house(Jing Ji Shi Yong Fang), Social Benefit etc. People basically can live with some help from goverment and if they want to seek better life, they must work harder to find their own way.

The things cant not do , which James metioned. I like to explain little bit as well.

1. choose a goverment from open election. --> this is a fundamental change, a long established country like China, wounldnt and counldnt throw a election instantly. It only will cause chaos and bring the country down. Its not Chinese dont know they need a election, just because it will destory their life and they rather live like now to enjoy more in other respects.

3. Have more than one child. I agree this restriction is not fair for urban people. But China suffer such a large population and if China dont control the population. It probably put much more peopel into proverty and let the whole world down. (food, fuel, ... etc). Do you like to see 2bn people in China?

4. form an indenpendent trade union. I think its happening now.

5. workship a religion which doesnt loyal to central goverment. There are many religions in China and not all of them are loyal to central goverment. But I think James your point here is particular for Fa Lung Gong. Fa Lung Gong has very complicate background and their action against central goverment is no acceptable in any goverment. You need to study more about Fa Lung Gong.

6. Yes, people cant access all part of the internet. That is what I dont agree what central goverment do. Coz even they open the limitation for Fa Lung Gong, 6.4 or whatever. Most people wont believe or wont bother to check it. Why no oepn it and give western media less to criticise.

I hope both of you can understand more about the Chinese legal system. Executions is only can be placed by Supreme People's Court. No local courts can place execution without permission from Supreme People's court. Can they execute 10000 a year? No way. Think about it.. common sense. The Chinese goverment is not great as I know. But its far better in some aspects than other goverment. One simple example, in UK, MPs seems to able to expense money for their home decoration and employ wife/son to work for them as advisor. And they can do it publicly and can reject calls to disclose their expenses. In China, none of these are allowed. I know people will mention curruption, but curruption is a small amount of officials and they are scare to death if someone disclose their crime. They suffer much more than the MPs in UK.

Each of these sites are on the top list of alexa and each has huge forum for people to discuss. Not to mentioned any small sites all over the internet and not to mention all the goverment hosted forum. They are all anonymouse and you can post what ever you want. Try there, but hoep you can understand the new chinese online language. Even I cant understand now. :)

The building are all very old building and most of them owned by factory or company that used to provide free housing the the workers. They are given the house for free because they work for the factory. But since most of the factories are moved outside city, specially in large city. These houses are also a target to be rebuild and workers need to move the new house that factory will provide(In some case, the factory is bankrupted, so goverment took over). In western, you dont given free house because you are employee , so the house is ur property. But in China, most of these old house are the property of the company. Company/goverment can decide to move or rebuild. But the fact is, the company/goverment often give them new house further outside city free of charge for them to move in, and also the house is on their name. Its like you been given a new house long ago and now the owner want to use the land and ask u to move to a new house further outside the city and give u plenty money. What will you do? The problem that they dont want to move is just because they are not satisified with the money goverment give them. simple.

Heyone, I think what you try to say is just base on what BBC reports. If you talk about its biased or not biased. At least you should learn to understand what other people say and what other medias reports. You ground is saying because western media reports, then its must be true. Because our media is not censored.

How about hundreds chinese forgien medias, how about millions oversea chinese who saw the both side of the story, who understand what happen and who know what they talking about? You judgement is base on a one side biased understanding. You didnt try to understand what the other side says. (I know u dont know Chinese or anyother languages, not your fault). But make judgement base on single side story, its biased.
