Time for some Sol searching, Campbell 8:16pm on 25 Sep 2009 FFS,who cares who gives a sh!t£ about another overpaid overated pansy,surely there are more important topics in football,like the base of the pyramid eroding away,lower league clubs going to the wall,far more important than sol campbell's £40.000 per week ego trips.

What West Ham takeover means 3:05pm on 08 Jun 2009 Hammerdoc i think you are wrong in stating that the hammers were in no danger of admin. Southampton thought that but as the law stands the administrators found that the club and the parent company were inextricably linked so you could easily have been dragged down,fortunately the hammers have been saved by the actions of the consortium of creditors.Obviously they saw no chance of salvaging any of their losses so the take over has in effect saved you from administration and given them hope of recouping their capital in the future.best of luck for the future,your team played some lovely stuff last season,keep up the good work.

A chairman with a thorough knowledge of the game which gives him the nouse to employ Tony Pulis as manager and give him time support and a reasonable ammount of cash to build a tough hardworking team. Pulis comes in and puts together a squad of players who in season 1 miss out of the playoffs by a few points,gain promotion in season2, and hold their own in season 3 with a squad of players who work for each other and give 100% for the club.and the one thing that comes over is that there is little dissent at the club,Tony Pulis was a tough no nonsense midfielder and his team reflects that work ethos.Pulis has the respect of his chairman and his players,proof of the pudding etc.
Down the Dwain again 7:38pm on 10 Mar 2009 Robbo,don't you ever get fed up of writing about the Premiership as if it's the be all and end all of football.Try writing about the problems and the plight of the lower league teams.50%(and that is a conservative estimate)of the Football League clubs and a higher percentage of the BSP and the feeder leagues are on the point of meltdown.The present pyramid structure of pro and semi-pro clubs is beginning to look extremely shaky,so what happens to a pyramid when the base goes eh?.where will the premiership be without the Football League.As in mythology it will consume itself.So how about it Robbo ?.
Football's last-chance saloon 9:33pm on 17 Feb 2009 hi paul, a good article.years ago the two local league clubs held open nights where the cream of the minor leagues could go along for extra training and playing time and the clubs would invite for trials anyone who showed promise.why don't the clubs carry on the practise so that the late maturers could get a second chance. any ideas on why this was stopped, it always seemed a good idea to me. any gems picked up could save the clubs a fortune especially those who are struggling financially.

Why Calzaghe deserves his place among the greats 01:43am on 11 Feb 2009 what ,for the most part,a load of tripe. i wonder how many of the posters calling joe have actually ever put on a pair of gloves or climbed in a ring let alone won a bout.i suspect most of the critics are of the watching through a lager haze type of "fan".leonard respects joe ,acknowledges his decision and to me that says it all.one of the all time greats respects joe c but you lot don't.i bet half of you don't have a clue what goes on behind the scenes,purses, venues, dates ,promoters,approval of opponents ,mandatory defences, having to be sanctioned by the board of control,the guy has fought and beaten everyone who has been put in front of him.give joe credit where it's due.the man has retired undefeated ,financially secure and without his brains scrambled. i do believe that if he had been badly injured in the ring you lot would have been the first to post tributes,you can't forgive joe because he's actually done something,what sad lives you lead.
Ferguson takes first round of long campaign 02:21am on 13 Jan 2009 i'm not impressed with the childish almost infantile buffoonery between benitez and fergusson.surely there are more important issues to discuss like points deductions for 2 bsp clubs,( remember them phil,you know the teams lower down the pyramid).this idiocy between those old clowns is of no particular interest to supporters of other clubs and it's just an aside like candy floss around a stick on a windy day or froth on coffee. it would be interesting if you did a blog on the problems of the lower league clubs because if the pyramid begins to wobble those at the top will find that it's a hell of a way down.
