Not quite what we thought 12:23pm on 13 Aug 2008 It's really a shame to mention that I am student of a British university in China. Why do not you Britons just try to improving yourselves instead of criticisiing your competitor. From the impression of you media, as a nation you are really far from a respective competitor. Sadly you are squandering and destroying your ancestors' honor and pride.

Did you mention how you got this information? I can reminder you that the director team of this opening ceremony held a press conference to tell the pubilc about some stories behind the scenes. If Chinese really wanted to hide these things(I do not think they could be so silly.),the public can never get these stories. So nobody wanted to hide these, but you and many of your British journalists are trying hard to protray them as scandals hiden by Chinese government.

As a Beijinger and have spent 3 years in London for study, I think it is really sad and pitiful that,actually nowadays, all British pride,confidence and superiority are all from the faked stories made by those great British journalists.

Because Beijing is too big and Beijingers have been in the habit of driving their own cars, it's really a hard thing to take buses or underground to travel through city. For example, my home is at west 4th Ring and the Bird's Nest is at north 5th Ring, from my home to Bird's Nest it is not a far way for Beijingers but it takes about 2 hours by buses in normal working days. The area of Beijing is about 10 times of London and it's really a pain to travel through the huge city by public transport.
Empty seats strike bum note 12:44pm on 12 Aug 2008 I am a Beijinger studying in London and now in Beijing for the game. I think there are many reasons. For example, I have some friends who have some tickets may wont go to watch the games just simply because them dont have time. Most of tickets are quite cheep so people dont care about if they waste these money.
I think another important reason is that most of us who booked tickets online didnt get the tickets which we really want. Just like me, when I booked tickets online I need to fille 10 choices of games but I just wanted 3 of them after draw I didnt get any tikets of these 3 and just got 2 tickets which I am not really very interested in. So actually I am think if I need go for it, and the date of these tickets is odd but the number of my car is even, because of that I can not drive to the place and my home is far from the city center, that's really a matter for me.

Firstly,why do Chinese people should care about who will come for Olympics. If you have just a little knowledge about the modern history of China,you would know Chinese people 's feeling about west countries. Since 1840 in Chinese territory there are many invasive wars made by west countries and then followed by lots of unequal treaty, millions of people died and lots of territory lost.It is really difficult for Chinese people to be friendly to the west, but they really tried hard and Chinese people just want to use Olympics as Chance to show the friendship for the west because this is the only way to make a peaceful world and nobody want a cold war again. But what the west mainstream did is to humiliate and infuriate China again and again just because they fear and envy a strong China.
Secondly,political prisoners, what kind of "political prisoners"? Why do you not give more information about these prisoners?I know you think everyone arrestted by Chinese government are definitely great people, dont you? But for me,a native Chinese who have spent 3 yrs in London, I think Chinese government and Chinese laws are too tolerant especially for these so-called political prisoners, and China really need a stronger law enforcement to protect ordinary people.
James, I have read all articles in your blog and I appreciate that you can tell us your observation about China, as a native Chinese I am very happy to see different opinions about my country and I dont expect you use a Chinese viewpoint to report China but I think you also need tell the west audiences Chinese people's opinions and between China and the west both of us need more understandings and comunications. You are a journalists and you can do this.
Made In China 00:40am on 26 Jun 2008 It is really complicated for a Chinese people to read this article. Chinese people have been using more than one and half centuries to try hard to restore a strong country since 1840. Now everyone think we are close to the aim but what I can find in China is that people dont have many holiday and most of them have to work more 40 hours per week. Even many families already have a good financial conditions but they have forgotten how to enjoy lives. The Chinese are really industrious people. I hope that in the future Chinese people can have much richer and more relax lives.
Lhasa's tightly controlled relay 5:57pm on 21 Jun 2008 I have an idea that you can use "tightly controlled Olympics" as a title to report Beijing Olympics. If one day in your report you tell your audiences that people in Beijing want to be independent I will be not surprised. Because you just want to make up a story that Chinese people hate the government and China is not a stable country. Sadly your report just make Chinese people to understand the importance of unity around the government. If you really see China as enemy,I would like to give you one suggestion that before you start to attack you need know your enemy first.
