Alonso to Ferrari could herald golden age 3:18pm on 01 Oct 2009 Ever since Alonso threw his toys out of his McLAREN this has been on the cards.Personally I hope Massa stiffs him and Lewis spanks the pair of them.What will Alonso do if he is not top dog and Massa beats him or, god forbid ,wins the Championship!In the real world though Ferrari just may not be that competative in the future under the new rules and Alonso will suffer accordingly.Talk like this of the head to head racing is very premature and I suspect journalist hype,Alonso is good ,but not a patch on Schumacher,Senna Prost etc.Time will tell but Hamilton will ,I think ,be the one to beat.
Should the NHS pay for IVF? 09:28am on 06 Aug 2009 No,pay for it themselves or adopt.The NHS was not set up for this,its their to provide universal health care,not service the whims and wants of people who could and should adopt.It may well be that the adoption rules aer very poor and need to be changed ,but the cost of this type of service is too high and should not be free,go privately if its that important or live with it like many before.Sorry for people who can't have children but you don't get everything in life you want...for free!
Dramatic weight loss 5:24pm on 23 Jun 2009 Ok lets put all this in perspective.In a country where if you save all your life ,work hard,never have any debt and pay all your taxes and NI you get nothing from the NHS when, due to old age and illness,you have to go into a care home and have more than £22,000 in savings or a house.You then have to pay something between £25-50,000 pa ,or more,for care (not nursing) and probably sell your house to do it.If you manage to live several years in the home your savings may run out and you will then have to move to a home nomintaed by the local council .
Why do these careful ,often frugal ,hard working people get nothing, yet wasters who cannot control their eating habits and have never paid any Tax (and possibly never will if they live on benefits because they are too fat to work or get to work) get funded by the rest of us?In other words if you are old and ill no NHS help,but if you are young and can't be bothered to stop eating,you get handouts for self induced obesity!No wonder the NHS is likely to run out of money.No doubt this girl will need cosmetic surgery next ,on the state,because of the excess skin left by the loss of weight.Pathetic not worthy of any sympathy.
Gilts and guilt 11:13am on 26 Mar 2009 Dear Mr Peston and everyone else at the BBC perhaps next tome you are talking to the Governor of the BoE,or Mr Darling or Gordon Brown or any other politician,senior civil servant you could ask them their view on the following quote:

Jose bows to Man Utd power 10:54am on 12 Mar 2009 The only people "fascinated" by the Mourinho "phenomenon" and who call him the "special one" still, are loved-up journo's!Its quite sick really because real fans of football have little interst inhi sposturing ,posing and self indulgent ways.The media love him because he gives them a quote for their daily copy and so keeps them in employment,but as to his ability as a manager he is only as good or bad as his players like any other manager.Please stop the sycophancy and get on with the football before we all throw up...preferably all over you while squeezed into a Mourinho press conference,that would be a story!!!
The jeers and not enough cheers in Turin 1:19pm on 09 Mar 2009 I hope by now Steve you have got the point?Unless everyone on here is a personal friend of Mr Chambers the general concensus fronmthe Athletic watching public at least is stop moaning and leave the lad alone.He has made his mistake,done his time but thats still not good enough for some .If drug taking carried a lifetime ban then thats a different matter but at present it doesn't .There are many examples far worse than DC over recent years (Blonska) who are repeat offendersand others who the media say very little about (Myerscough?).What about a campaign to wipe out all those records from the 80's by east europeans that are all drug related in both athletics and swimming?Its time to move on and leave the lad alone,provided he says what he did was wrong and he is telling young kids the same let him run I say,who knows he might even do some good for our overweight under excercising kids.Enough!!!
Doctor Who news! 11:10am on 05 Jan 2009 I give the new guy one series only.Far too young and serious Whovians will never take to him if its been done for ''luuurv'' interest,as THIS HAS NEVER BEEN part of the shows appeal.Good luck to him,sure he will do his best, but I think it will prove to be a big BBC mistake they will live to regret.You heard it here first!
Revitalised Hatton back to his best 1:00pm on 24 Nov 2008 Please all you Hatton fans don't get to excited.It wasa competent performance and he did what was required - just!This guy was not and nexver will be one of the better fighters in the division lacking power and strenght but for all his dominance Ricky never finished him off .Listen to Mayweather sr ,he knows it was just ok and is not too excited ,there remains a lot more work to do before Ricky can get back in with the big boys!Well done and good luck but listen to the smart people Ricky ,not the mates and fans who hve never taken a punch.
A chance to influence a new radio show 12:40pm on 10 Nov 2008 How about something on the upcoming move of 5 live et al to Manchester?Why is it happening when a lot of the TV/radio support structure and skilled atff live and work in London and will continue to do so.What and who will be involved ,what do BBC staff think,do the presenters like it or many of them keen to remain in and around London,if so will they leave the sation (and go to radio2,lets interview Simon Mayo about it and ask Peter Allen if he is moving).How much will it all cost,will it be money well spent or is being done as a stunt because of ctriticsm re London centric media?How will you handle interviewing people in person,especially overseas visitors who often are only here for a very short while and can't or won't go up to Manchester or will it be done by links between studios (never as effective if you cannot look a politician in the face)?Navel gazing...maybe ,but surely its a topic that should be high on your agenda??
