The new weather forecast. 6:08pm on 12 Oct 2009 Living in a place where our lives are ruled by the wind strength I was surprised that there was no mention of the wind in the whole forecast in pm. (I must admit that it was a nice change not to have the word "breeze" used to describe a force 8 gale - which is what has happened in the past. Could it not be possible to say wind Force 2 to 3 for example for each area? Or wind speed 25 to 35. (Maximum and minimum for each area. This would warn we people who are very affected by the wind and we could investigate further. This would only take 3 seconds to do. This does not seem unreasonable to me.
Ideas for Springwatch 1:08pm on 12 Jun 2009 Spring Watch was wonderful - thank you to everyone involved. I live in one of the remotest and most unspoilt parts of Britain and see plenty of fledglings in my garden but being able to see their "nest" life on the TV is a joy and a real education. Sugar and Hornby: why they're hired 12:12pm on 08 Jun 2009 I will certainly never shop at Boots again and I hope many more people will take the same action. Andy Hornby caused misery to thousands of people and is now being rewarded with another huge salary and pension. What an unfair unequal country Britain has become in the last 30 years.
Have you noticed anything unusual this spring? 1:25pm on 02 Jun 2009 My local cuckoo has a different call from time to time. It does cuck cuck cuck etc (It misses out the coo bit). I wondered if this had a reason, was unusual etc?

BT: Self-inflicted wounds 3:37pm on 14 May 2009 No wonder BT are in such a mess. The packages they offer are reasonably priced and clearly set out on their web page. I signed up for one last week and that is where the nightmares started. It has been a horrific week of unending basic errors (even got my address wrong and I have been a customer for 15 years). How they could make such a mess of a simple order for someone who is already a customer I do not know. I am hoping to get their Broadband tomorrow but going by their service in the last week I am not holding my breathe and am already regretting changing to them before it has even happened. (I have to say that they have a very good online service called "Live Chat" but you can't use this service after you have signed up with them.) Also - if you have the luck to press the right buttons on your phone you might get an efficient Scottish lady to save your sanity. It is by far the worst customer service I have come across in a long time and I find it hard to believe that BT could get so much wrong in such a short a time. It is all very depressing.
Changes to our blogs 2:51pm on 28 Mar 2009 Certainly change for changes sake. I dread going to the BBC website now. The weather site is unrocognisable. Iplayer is changing yet again. Blogs have been changed. I wonder how people find the time to learn their way round these continuous changes? When changes are made - couldn't a brief resume of how the new pages work be put at the top of changed pages?
The long and short of banks 10:41am on 23 Jan 2009 I agree with every word of Post number 7 from dknotty. I listened in complete disbelief to Gordon Brown's interview on the Today programme this morning. He seems to be in complete denial of the part the British Government, and especially himself, have played in getting us into this financial mess. The interview was just a prepared rant and I wonder if anyone counted the number of times he used the word Global! If he would just show the slightest bit of humility and admit to any portion of blame he might get some sympathy. As it is he is acting like a bull in a china shop and I am frightened for the future of Britain.
Taxpayers' mortgage guarantee 4:06pm on 04 Dec 2008 So much for people who have paid for insurance to cover their mortgage payments in case they were made redundant - will they get their premiums returned?
Monday morning feeling 08:26am on 06 Oct 2008 Why do the government need to guarantee more than the first £35,000/£50.000 of people's savings? Why not leave the status quo? Anyone with any sense/responsibliity has made sure they have only this amount in one institution. Now the less responsible people who didn't bother to sort out their affairs are going to be supported by the unresponsible. The usual story for this government - the responsible paying for the irresponsible.
