Discuss our English quiz 09:28am on 25 Jun 2009 5/7 not bad for someone who had actually never read any of those books or plays (even with an A level in enlgish lit !)
Pop goes my drinks choice 10:50am on 15 Aug 2008 Not being a fizzy drink sort of person, I tend to drink tap water when I'm thirsty and I use a glass. I use a small re-usable plastic bottle filled with tap water when I go out or on a journey. Mind you, the water here in Birmingham is the best !
One week in 2:40pm on 08 Aug 2008 Plastic wrapping on loo rolls annoys me too ! Can't the point of it myself - years ago it was in a paper wrapper.

The only one I can think of is Izal squares - I think they come in little cardboard boxes (bit hard though !)
Nappies: A messy situation 12:33pm on 07 Aug 2008 I've just bought my niece 48 terry towelling nappies for her new twins - she made her mind up to use reusable nappies before they wore born (although at the time she didn't know she was going to have 2 !)

I wish her luck with the washing, drying and ironing (especially in the winter !)

Anyway, I think your doing a cracking job - keep it up!

Waste not, shop not 3:37pm on 05 Aug 2008 The only thing I use those little plastic bags at the supermarket for is things like fresh peas.

I try to store food at home in small plastic containers that can be washed and used again.

I only wish fresh food producers used less - why put a cauliflower in a printed wrapper - I know what it is! Why tray up 4 pieces of fresh fruit - if I want 4, I'll pick up 4 !

I don't know if my little bit helps - I hope so!
Easing congestion on the roads 3:13pm on 04 Mar 2008 Having used the extra lane on the M42, although scarey at first (people overtaking on the inside !) I've got used to is. The trafic is slower but safer. This is OK for motorways. However to improve the congestion in towns and cities, public transport needs to be overhauled and made 'user friendly' - better routes, cleaner buses/trains. I drive to work and back each day from the south east of Birmingham to the south west of Birmingham. It's only nine miles, using A and B roads but some mornings, even though I leave home at 7.30am it can take me up to 55 minutes to get to work. However on the bus I would have a 10 minute walk to the stop, and either take 2 buses - a journey of about 1 hour and 20 minutes or one bus, again a 10 minute walk to the stop and then 1 hour and 45 mins on the bus - which do you think I prefer ? At least I can be warm, clean and listed to the Today programme !
