a top human rights lawyer and a journalist were murdered in broad daylight in central Moscow.
Their killings were cold and deliberate,
a short distance from the Kremlin in the district with heavy police presence. It is abundantly clear that the killer knew that he would run no risk to be catch.

The ancient Georgians kingdoms of Colchis and Kartli existed from the 7th century BC.
By the middle of the 4th century both this kingdoms adopted Christianity as their official religion.
They were unified into Georgian kingdom in 10th century.
Georgia proclaimed its independence from Russia in 1918 but in 1921 the country was occupied by Bolshevist Russia.

Poland has such living standards because of they were the Kremlin's satellite within 40 years

Before WWII Latvia and Estonia had living standards similar to Finland.

In 2005 Finland registered GDP per inhabitant 14% above the EU27 average, Estonia and Latvia were 39% and 51% lower the EU27 average.

Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania were created in 1918 - 1920 during the Wars of Independence when they fought against both Russian and Germans.

In 1944 - 1950 thousands of fighters in the Baltic states participated in unsuccessful guerrilla warfare against Soviet occupation

fortunately for Latvians the time when their children had to study the Russian by the Kremlin's order is over and they study now in the mother tongue as well as their peers in Iceland, Denmark and Finland

in the Russian.

Now there is education in the Russian in the Baltic states

'USSR printed billions of copies of literature in own local languages. '

Most of them were the works of Lenin , Stalin and other communist propaganda books

'Local theatres and writer's and poet's societies were heavily sponsored.'

The works of this writers and poets were heavily censored. Many books of other authors were prohibited.

According to the 1934 Census in Latvia ethnic Latvians formed 75,7% of the country's population.

In 1989 the percentage of ethnic Latvians in the total population dramatically fell to 52%

in 1934 ethnic Estonians made up 88.1% of the population of Estonia

in 1989 only 61,5%

In the spring of 1940 about 14,500 Polish military officers and policemen and 7,300 Polish civilian prisoners were murdered without any trial by the Stalin's order.
