1. Shareholders take up rights
2. Shareholders immediately all sell their new shares
3. RBS share price is forced to new lows
4. RBS faces the same problem it faced at the end of last week.

Is this a plausible situation?
Markets call time on Iceland 3:52pm on 04 Oct 2008 This post makes me very glad I didn't take up one of the tempting high-street interest rates Icelandic banks were offering recently.

If an Icelandic bank fails, you cannot go to the FSA compensation scheme! You have to go to the Icelandic one first, and on the basis of what Robert was written, you could be whistling for your cash. Whether you would then be covered by the FSCS wasn't clear to me when I looked into it, but I didn't fancy taking a chance.
Provoking a reaction 4:56pm on 23 Sep 2008 Poor diddums English listeners. They should try being Scottish. Until the recent BBC Trust report, Scottish listeners and viewers were lucky if Scotland even got a mention in most BBC news broadcasts.
The creation of Lloyds HBOS 5:39pm on 17 Sep 2008 According to The Times, Gordon Brown first raised concerns about HBOS with Lloyds on Monday night. But HBOS shares didn't start to tank until Tuesday, and it was only the downward spiral in their price that caused widespread concern about its viability. This raises two questions:
- Why was Gordon Brown concerned about HBOS on Monday? At that point, it was (correctly) regarded as a strong institution.
- Did Gordon Brown create this crisis by starting a rumour about HBOS?
Google's Chrome and the browser end game 12:28pm on 02 Sep 2008 "...undoubtedly web application designers are going to have to take into account the quirks and differences of Chrome to really exploit the browser"

If any web developer honestly agrees with a statement like this, then they have no one but themselves to blame for the extra work they bring upon themselves.
