You're right in the fact that people wouldn't say no if Rooney came and played for their clubs. Its a joke to say he isn't a talent, can i have whatever you're smoking? or even borrow your glasses? People are blinded because he plays for United.

If Gerrard, Lampard and Rooney are all on song, England have a good chance. But if they're not then i can see last 16 or quarters to say the least, AGAIN.

The GK situation is far more important, but i wouldn't be surprised if come the end of the summer, Phil writes a blog seeing i told you so when Rooney scores and creates hatful of goals on the way to world cup glory. Wishful thinking to say the least, but people watch what you say.

First of all this nonsense that added time was FOR BOTH TEAM and CITY could have scored as well....

Phil, Phi, Phil!!!!! You surprise me. DO you think it was the same for both? Man Cit was playing away from home, without 3 of their strikers. They came from behind and were content with a point. City's goal (given their situation with injured and suspension) to come even with Man U over 90 + allocated time! Which they thought they did. MORE TIME WAS NOT THE SAME FOR BOTH. This is ridiculous. When Chelsea was tied 1-1 with Braca last year do you think if thew match had gone to extra time,Chelsea players would happily go along with with however long the ref would let the game (giving Barca a chance). NO!
City had achieved what they were looking for in regulation and what they thought was allocated extra time.

Man City in the first half played like they wanted to win the game, so stop talking rubbish. its delusional. Man City, lets be honest here, and take a reality check were played off the park in the second half because United went through the gears and completely outclassed them. It doesn't matter if they're without their strikers, they could have had the choice to still win the game no matter what. Look at how much their first 11 was yesterday, it was still over £100m of talent, and Tevez was quiet but Bellamy was outstanding. Man City easily could have won yesterday if they'd tried to attack but they were played off the park.
Ferguson revels in classic win 12:13pm on 21 Sep 2009 I've been refusing to get into this debate on the whole added on time scenario. Yeah its pretty obvious where the added on time came from, it came from Bellamy's over celebrating, and it has cost his team time and the game. Carrick coming on for Anderson added on more seconds to get the winner. What Ferguson did could have back fired big time with that substitution, if Man City went up the other end and scored Hughes would not be complaining (but you just felt it was to be United's day, we were outstanding second half. Only a stupid mistake by Ferdinand nearly took that away from us). Man City paid the price for just looking to get a point at the end of the match, and where was the defending of Micah Richards? awful. He did look good at times, but his defending is dreadful. If Man City were more alert that pass could have easily been blocked, but what a ball. Great to be a United fan and putting one over on the City, no one can say we didn't deserve to win because you would be pretty naive to suggest otherwise.

And as most people have said you play to the referee's whistle. Its not 'big four time' or 'fergie time' as people suggest lol! Fair play to Man City though for coming back three times, even though two of them were ridiculous mistakes by United. Great game of football.

I would say Villa are a big club and they haven't won anything for a while. Newcastle have been relegated but I would still call them a big club. Leeds are further down still. But I don't expect Utd fans to understand, thhey don't see any other club as worthy to even be in the same league.

And how come City lose their best players and become a weaker team, but Utd lost 2 of their best players over the summer but havn't been weakened? Hypocrisy from the reds again.

Villa a big club? yeah i agree. But i don't see Man City as a big club but thats my opinion. Newcastle and Leeds, yeah you may have another good point there. Chelsea and Liverpool are in the same league as United and so are about 16 other teams haha ;)! But i get what you're saying as i am a United fan.

And for your question at the end, what do you base that on? Because i certainly didnt suggest that at all. Yeah we have lost probably the best footballer in the world, but Tevez is replaceable. Ronaldo isn't. So to say we're weakened is a damn true fact, but because of that people write us off. We still have some top class players playing at OT still. If we lost Evra or Rooney i think United would be in bigger trouble.

Doesn't Ferguson have a point though? When did Man City last win anything? When did Everton last win anything? Everton are not a small club because they have won things in the past 15 years or so. And all their league titles compared to city's two suggests otherwise. Everton have more history than Chelsea lol! So at the moment Man City are a small club because they haven't won something of significance in a long long time. It's going back just over 40 years. But if you want to include the 1976 league cup then thats only 33 years. All in all Man City will be there or there abouts this season. They still have a long way to go before they become a big club in the league of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and United.

Ferguson talk must please Man City 10:53pm on 18 Sep 2009 This season United Have played Arsenal without Fabregas and Spurs without Modric, both of these are the most influential and creative players both those teams have. Against City they face a team without Robinho, Adebayor and Santa Cruz. The first two are as important to City as Rooney and Fletcher and Giggs are to United. It is easy for United to be Cocky and dismissive because tthey are facing a team heavily under strength. They might not seem so bullish once Rooney is forced off or out for a sustained period. Trust me I know what I'm talking about! Chelsea had to do without Drogba, Essien and Joe Cole for long spells last season and it took it's toll. United have been lucky recently...gifted goals and weakened opposition but they are still a very srong side. owever, I do feel a Chelsea team with Essien, Drogba and Lampard, Liverpool with Mascherano, Gerrard and Torres or City with Ireland, Robinho and Adebayor would have the beating of Ferguson's men....and without Rooney you feel United are in serious trouble.

Everyone keeps saying this but I don't know on what grounds.

Chelsea the same team without Drogba? no.

Liverpool the same team without Gerrard? no.

Arsenal the same team without Fabregas? no.

United never look the same team when Fletcher doesn't play regardless of whether Rooney is playing or not. Fletcher is the key man because of his energy. The only game Fletch hasnt played this season in the league, we lost. Yeah people may laugh but that is what the statistics show so far and he is very underrated.

He has broken the British transfer record more times than every other club put together (in recent memory), yet criticizes all other clubs for spending big.
His squads have contained some of the dirtiest players ever to grace the top flight (and still do, think Vidic, Scholes), yet criticizes any foul on his own players.
He criticizes other clubs for poaching young players, yet Utd are the masters at it, Beckhams transfer was so dodgy employment law had to be changed and how did they manage to sign Fabio, Rafael and Macheda and those are just from the current squad.

Anyone who actually believes anything that comes out of Fergies mouth, is clearly a deluded fool.

It seems to me you are deluded about our high spending, and i'll tell you why, the money Ferguson has had to spend has come through the revenue that United have made, and the money that has come from United being successful. It has not come from some wealthy owner who comes from half way across the globe. Yeah Glazer came and bought us out, but the fact we are now in debt because of him.

But you make a good point about poaching youngsters because no club has a leg to stand on, all clubs do it. Ferguson ought to keep his mouth shut sometimes. However, if he thinks that they've done the dealings fairly for all his transfers and we don't get done anytime soon then maybe he is telling the truth (i highly doubt it). But you're definately right, all clubs poach players whether fans of the clubs like to hear it or not.

You also make a good point about us being a dirty team, but football is a mans game, its not for wimps. If you can't hack it go and play netball or something. Also, even with the dirtiness as we all know judging some of the players we've had, we can still play football. The demolishing of Roma, 7-1, the demolition of Ispwich in 1995 when we beat them 9-0 ect.. and the fact that we used to spank teams home and away during our early glory years shows we can play football. United are known to be a good keep the ball team, but Arsenal are the masters of it. However, because its United everyone has tinted glasses on and can't see half the time that we CAN play really good football. People are blinded because of their hatred for United. Its fair enough though, someone has to be hated. Also, the Spurs game showed we can still play football haha. By the way to this blogger, this is not entirely directed at you, you've just set me off an a rant lol.

And as far as this game goes on Sunday we'll soon see how far this City team has come and how supposedly bad we have become this season.
Ferguson talk must please Man City 8:09pm on 18 Sep 2009 Mark Hughes is a bit of a plank really. United for years now with the odd exception and including this start to the season have looked poor. We never getting going till December time, thats when we peak and obviously it sticks because we win titles. Yeah Man City have improved for sure, no doubt about it, but to say they'll win the league is a bit ott. Chelsea have by far the strongest squad, and for strength in depth United's isnt half bad either. Yeah we lost Ronaldo and Tevez but what Hughes does not realise is that we will look like a team again. This season is going to be an interesting one.
Adebayor madness mars Man City win 5:19pm on 13 Sep 2009 Disgraceful! Can't the Kenyon's, Wenger's, Hughes's and Ferguson's of this world see how their petulance and inability to accept any decision or ban against them is affecting the game. Let's face it if managers had a zero tolerance penalty for diving, cheating and general bad behaviour then it wouldn't be happening.

Adebayor's actions should be roundly condemned by every lover of the game whoever they support. Inciting the crowd in such and obvious and hostile manner is beyond reckless, it's positively dangerous. Football violence is a very real issue again and actions like yesterdays provoke it.

As for anyone who regards it as acceptable or 'no big deal'. If you were in the away end with your 10 yr old son and it kicked off like that maybe you'd change your opinion. Only the most limited intellect could produce or condone such behaviour but it seems there are plenty of those around.
