The family album 2:56pm on 08 Jul 2009 Linewall i do not agree that the photos under the bed of the past are of no interest to any one. I have put most of my old photos on Flicker, people flock to see them, after all they are now history. Photos of me as a child 50 years ago not only show me, they show the way we lived, they show cars, houses, fashions,all long gone. People can see the past, without such photographs people would never know what the past was like for ordinary people. You would be dependent on media representations of the world and will all die respect to the media it is rather a biased view.Lets see the photographs taken by the average person of the average person and see how life really was.
Can we afford the carriers? 2:38pm on 30 Jun 2009 What concerns me is that the building of these carriers was extended in the first place. They are desperately needed, the two midget plane carriers we have at the moment are a joke. The problem with this whole carrier project is that it will become a political football and the need for them will be ignored. The Tories will cut them just because it saves money, without a thought in the world to what happened in 1982 when thatcher had to use carriers she was about to scrap because of the unexpected and the lib dems would have trying to defend the unexpected from a rubber dinghy. Then we come to the sticky issue of jobs and compensation to be paid for cancellation,thousands of jobs will go, billions will have been wasted in the development of the joint strike aircraft then there will be compensation to be paid for pulling out of that contract. It is probably cheaper to finish building them anyway without even considering whether they are needed or not which they are.
% billion is actually not a lot in the overall national budget, leave them alone.

Children in detention at Yarl's Wood 10:09pm on 27 Apr 2009 i love the we are not to blame brigade, blame the parents. The children are the innocent party in this, and regardless of what their parents have done should be treated as innocent. But like most things this government does what they say in public and what they do hidden from the public are two different things. publicly fight for freedom, but privately, well it was until now beat and bully protesters. Make so many rules for child protection that a parent would not dare slap their own child, but in private do this. It reminds me so much of what went on in a certain European country in the 30's and 40's until people of my parents generation gave their lives to end. As well as the abuse to the children what really hurts is what did all those brave people fight for if our own government is now doing the same.
Condoms or family meals? 09:41am on 02 Apr 2009 What gets me is that surveys show that kids are spending very little time with their parents, but at the same time we get reports that kids are spending very little time in the countryside as parents will not let them out on their own. To me the contradictions sum up the situation parents do not have a clue what is going on in their own kids lives because they are to busy caring about themselves. It is no wonder teens get pregnant, maybe in a way they are just looking for somebody to care for them.
Men who face domestic abuse 1:44pm on 11 Feb 2009 What gets me as can be seen by Denise Cullums remarks is that men that are abused are told by the women that they brought it on themselves, but of course these are the same women that say it women have it brought on them. The remark from the same person also states men can get out of it, well i would beg to differ, my ex was 16 stone and worked out in a gym i was 11 stone with a hereditary back disease. Afraid Denise you have it wrong again.
Men who face domestic abuse 11:46am on 11 Feb 2009 Having been raped and abused by an ex wife i know how it feels. Try telling a policeman that. I was laughed at when i reported it. It was not until the violence happened in public that the police even bothered attending, the took her away and told her not to do it again and then gave her a lift home!!

Who's watching you? (1) 2:33pm on 10 Feb 2009 What is the British Government is so worried about us that it has to watch everyone of us 24 hours a day 7 days week 365 days of the year. Surely a blanket of surveillance on all of society is far less efficient than intensive surveillance of the few. Or is it that the government is actually that worried about us the electorate that it will be soon be arguing that we cannot be trusted to elect a government that cares for the country because of all the misdemeanors is has noticed us carrying on CCTV monitors.
Why else would it need all of this information, it smells of the stazi from former East Germany
Is it safe to Explore? 3:05pm on 16 Dec 2008 IE explorer comes with Windows and internal snopping databases and like anything with a window it is easily broken and provides a entry for criminals.
Haven't used it for years i use Firefox a far better and more secure browser.
