On the couch with Padraig Harrington 10:33pm on 14 Jul 2009 I just watched a BBC video clip now where the bbc journalist was asking Tiger Woods how much inspiration he gets from Roger Federer. That was a most absurd, disrespectful question to ask from such a champion as Tiger. I mean, we all know what a great tennis player Roger is, and his place in Sports hall of fame is assured. But, last time i checked, Tiger had already made his mark and won a few majors long before Roger emerged on the scene. What was Tiger's inspiration then. Is it now, when Tiger Woods has become an established dominant player in golf, that he will need inspiration from Roger Federer??

Wednesday 5th November 2008 10:48pm on 11 Nov 2008 I just watched a preview of the 6th November in which Jeremy Paxmann interviewed a certain Dizee Rascal following Barack Obama's historic victory in the US. And i'm left wondering: how more cynical can the bbc get, projecting this stereotype image of black britain? It's rare to find a black intellectual getting interviewed on the bbc. You find hip-hop artists, sportsmen, and (ocassionally) politicians. A Havard educated lawyer, married to Havard educated woman, wins an election in the US. The Bbc brings a 'rascal' as the voice of back british men, and (Jeremy Paxmann) cynically encourage him to run for office one day. The message for black kids at home is "you want to be a barack obama? Forget the university, forget education. Become a 'rascal', find yourself a flute, and sing your way to the office of prime minister!" Isnt Trevor right about institutional racism, not only in British politics but the society at large?

An end to "victimhood"? 11:55pm on 06 Nov 2008 #83. how long until you stop this malicious, obnoxious stereotyping? Refusal to learn may be a problem of some gang subculture, but how on earth is it (inherently) 'black' culture, except you relish such stereotyping. I have also done some teaching (maths and science) in inner city: majority of my students are white, others black. Yet i've had as many white as blacks unwilling to learn, simply because they think it's not cool. Conversely, i've had curious and diligent students in the same class, both black and white. What more do you have to say?
An end to "victimhood"? 9:31pm on 06 Nov 2008 And what, Justin, is black culture "which must now change", (by means of compulsory assimilation), I might add? Such nonsense! The assertion that the plight of many black Americans is the fault of "black culture" is in itself malicious racial stereotyping, if by black culture you refer to gang culture, violent (rap) lyrics, anti-intellectualism, and habitual dependence on welfare package... The last time i checked, there are millions of non-blacks in Britain and America that can be rightly put in any of those categories, yet it would be wrong to describe it in terms of racial culture. A more pertinent problem is reactionary journalism, in which, in spite of gains and progress made by humans, some individuals want to keep dragging humans back by negative stereotyping and promotion of racial divisions...

Getting angry 10:32pm on 10 Oct 2008 I just listened to BBC news and can not but think it' very disingenous of the BBC to accentuate the negative with respect to extreme passions against Obama. For one, there's more positive pereception of Obama than there are negative, so much that some have called it Obamania. More importantly, it's just few days ago someone in London shot a man for wearing an Obama T-shirt, and you expect the BBC to realize that their broadcast of such dangerous venoms on prime time TV may well be tantamount to a sort of incitement
