London faces first Olympic test 1:44pm on 06 Oct 2008 Dorney Lake, the Olympic rowing/canoeing venue, did manage to host the World Rowing Championships in 2006, so at least one venue has proven itself already.
Following The Box 6:51pm on 10 Sep 2008 Why not provide some images and video that can be used by 'us' to write about the project? The map is good, but there could be more.
Interesting Stuff 2008-08-20 7:03pm on 20 Aug 2008 One more thing - will the BBC give us audience figures for the online coverage of the Olympics. I'd love to be able to compare with NBC, who have a completely different tack; they're not streaming live and are delaying online video coverage until after it's been on the telly. Quality is poor as well. Only about 8% of their audience are watching online.
Interesting Stuff 2008-08-20 6:58pm on 20 Aug 2008 If you're doing this this year, just imaging what we'll get in 2012, when I'm guessing the BBC may actually control the filming as well (assuming the BBC have the Olympics then). Full control of what and how you're watching (based on extrapolating the wimbledon stuff).

But - what have you done to the mobile coverage. It seems to have been stopped and I can't watch the live stream on my phone. It was great last week, now it seems to not be working.

Switzerland is SUI and France is FRA; for some reason Algeria ends up being DZA?! The ISO organisation uses two letter codes. Just feel happy the Olympics don't use the 3 letter number codes, otherwise you'd have to use 826.

That moment came a while ago, with Californain fires, more earthquakes, explosions and many other things. This is probably the first one that you've seen.

I disagree with Scoble though on his statement that "It is amazing the way we can cover news on twitter. Far faster than the professionals. "

For me there's a difference between news, which is usually a more after the fact report with some fact-checking and reflection. Twitter is immediate event reporting from eye-witnesses that reflects their perceptions - which can be wrong. (Although with an earthquake it's a bit hard to be too wrong!). The tools have different uses, Twitter is not a replacement, but it is far faster as a notification to get you looking elsewhere

Of course, it also depends on where you are looking; this morning the BBC was fastest for me to get the info, other times it is Twitter.
