Is there a flaw in the 2012 legacy pledge? 5:05pm on 26 Oct 2009 I personally do not think the infastructure will hold up , hoping transport will benefit is a pie in the sky idea , London runs on a transport system that is in need of massive regeneration and modernization , as a regualr user particualarly in East London I can assure all who think all is rosy they are well off .
Accomadation also will fall down whilst the athletes may be catered for in a modern version of a prefab housing estate - remember those if you are old enough , the visitors will be either fleeced or sleeping on the embankment as the hotel rooms in London and surrounding areas will be nowhere near adequate .
Whilst not wishing to sound doom laden as soon as London was confirmed as the bid winner my heart sank that was before the global reccesion and its consequences .The IOC has taken a punt on us and I suppose the organisers will say the reccesion forced our hand but does it inspire you knowing the world is watching us as we stage events in stadia not fit for purpose , ie Wembley for the boxing , in the old Empire pool arena which should have been knocked down when the fottball stadium was demolished but the country could not stand another stadium rebuild and the cost involved .
I am a massive sports fan but I am dreading my country making the equivelant of a school sports day in global terms .

Is all publicity good publicity? 4:26pm on 21 Oct 2009 this is my last thought on the subject on here I ahve read as many of the posts today as I can and have impressed by points made by both sides , however what many appear to be missing is what this country could gain from BNP standpoint .
Their policies are too radical for the majority but then so was sinn fein in the 70,s and look how the goverment havve got into bed with them.
By taking on the concerns of many in this country over immigration and ethnic groups appearing to take the upper hand in many inner city areas the leading parties could make themselves more electable and appeal to the disenfranchised white classes within the electorate , politics is after all an amalgum of veiw points and nobody could feasible see a radicle right wing party succeeding , but if there policies were toned down , who knows
Is all publicity good publicity? 4:04pm on 21 Oct 2009 Perhaps we know from this feature how the BBC view the BNP , look as the picture of Nick Griffin at the top of this page , demoninc or what , he will not get a fair crack of the whip on QT , I think the debate will be allowed to be overrun by left wing loonies who have already said they will protest at the appearance of Griffin .
Is all publicity good publicity? 11:58am on 21 Oct 2009 I have always felt that many mainstream politicians i.e Thatcher, and many of her era were never really saying what they felt with regard to immigration and the increasing dissafection of the white population in this country.
Now we have a voice albeit a radical voice putting across what many believe in but are afraid to say .
With the projected 10 million increase in population in this country mostly from immigration it will only give more muscle to the BNP .
Most left wing apologists do not appreciate the way the traditional nationalistic supporter feels about the way this country has lurched into a mixed race society , indeen those in some parts of the country i.e the shires and hampshire have yet to feel the force of immigration on there twee little world , it is inevitable that as the population grows these places will become more populated with ethic groups , watch the bleating then.
The BNP wil not get a foothold yet in mainstrean politics but as more of the population become over-run with the overspill from immigration and overpopulation and overspill from the cities its popularity will increase .
It is over 40 years since the Enoch Powell speech in the midlands when he was blackballed by his own party yet the recived massive support form many of population by way of letters of support , indeed 35000 in favour with aprox 800 dissenting , although times have changed radically since then and the country is unrecognisable from the one of the 60,s the issues remain , this counrty will never truly accept a racially mixed society , if only the politicians would say what they really felt instead of hiding below the parapet
Priced out of Olympic sport? 3:28pm on 20 Oct 2009 Rip off Britain Ollie get used to it , the games will be put together on a shoestring in global sporting terms and punters will be charged the earth to attend in venues that have stood for years or will be demolished or downsized as soon as Seb waves goodby and gives the flag to Rio .
The infastructure will not stand the strain I travel around east London reguarly and I can tell you we are way off pace with what was on offer in Barcelona , Athens , Atlanta, let alone Bejing .
In what will supposed to be a celebration of this countrys sporting prowess I can see nothing but embarresment in terms of infastructure , pricing and legacy, we have not got on to the subject of hotel prices , how much will the worlds public be fleeced for those ?
It is only 33 months away yet what we have seen so far is an embarresment sadly , what is highlighted here will be the norm in 2012
Cagey Contador loses nothing in translation 5:22pm on 16 Oct 2009 next year does not look too brutal in the mountains so maybe AC effect wont be too great ,LA will be a year older though and I think may not finish when it becomes clear he cant compete with the very best , but you never know , with the little aussie riding of to win the worlds this year anything is possible but 90% of me thinks succevive tours for AC

waste of time the lot of them , we are a pub side in international terms , looking at a 40year old butterfingered keeper as a safe option says it all , I off on me hols away from telly when the world cup is on , will get back for semis when England will be well home with there feet up
First Sight of the Pacific 11:21am on 28 Sep 2009 great photos , 6000 miles is an awsome acheivement and you look well on it I must say , every stage is an inspiration , and now you must be looking forward to south america , can I just ask how does it differ this time to the round the world challenge , is it just as tough ?
