The PM Glass Box. 5:19pm on 15 Oct 2009 OK, one more minor criticism from the Doc on pronunciation matters:

When you hear someone from that country mentioning its name, the pronunciation you get is PaRKistaRN. Allowing for regional accents, I can understand why this sometimes comes out as PaCKistaNN. But for some reason, various presenters, reporters, newsreaders and others have somehow decided on a bizarre hybrid PaCKistaRN. I could mention Martha, Robin and that Mr Miliband character. Would it not be great if someone would put them straight? Well, maybe the word will spread from here...
The PM Glass Box. 5:08pm on 15 Oct 2009 Zeb and others seem to refer to some entity known as 'Rawl Mell', but I'm afraid I still have no idea what it is. Any clues?
The new PM weather forecast... 4:44pm on 13 Oct 2009 The problem with this map is that you can't click on it for a closer look, which would then allow you to see which side of a certain boundary you are on. This is so small that a lot of people must feel that they could be covered by one of two (or more) regions.

I have always suspected that this means the interviewee was trying to get away from the reporter, but failed. Talk about aggressive journalism - if they're trying to run away from you, let them go.
Weather update. 5:43pm on 15 Sep 2009 Something else weather presenters need to do is to say "that is THE weather forecast" not "that is YOUR weather forecast". If it doesn't apply to the meteorologist himself, what use is it?

The PM Glass Box. 5:59pm on 24 Aug 2009 I know it isn't the point, but as it's a Scottish story - do you think it's just an unfortunate coincidence that most commentators have been pronoucing the Libyan's name as "al-McGrahi"?

As to that statement - initially I thought the delivery of it was deliberately slow to keep him in prison just that little bit longer, although I think he had been freed already.
