Stock market bubble with no profits ala 2000-20001 with the dot com boom.

Low interest rates, money being printed via QE and house prices rising again.

Economy lagging behind all competitors.

End result is obviously inflation and then higher interest rates, then we actually get the reset button pressed but in the process all that has actually happened is UK debt has bubbled probably twice over.

Higher interest rates will be forced by external economies regardless of what happens in the UK.

We are doomed.

I would say the dictionary definition of 2) fits.

People are born where they are born, fact. If they were born in England then they were born in England.

English people are English, Welsh are Welsh, Scots are Scottish. I don't see myself as British, I am English - much as I would expect you to think yourself Welsh. As regards "seeming" and saying I don't understand where I live (from your previous post), other cultures or what is around me - I have lived in many, many cultures and many countries. I note your nationalistic opinions yet you deny me mine.

My attitudes ? Hold on there, I treat all other cultures and races with respect. Is that true of other cultures or countries ? When I go to another country you have no choice but to accept the countries culture and obey it's laws and customs - No matter how offensive your own culture finds them or how discriminatry their culture is. Eventually you come to the conclusion that your own culture is not the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The fact is I would expect women in an Islamic country to be offended, if not more so, by a western woman in western clothes. It is their beliefs and who is to say which is right ? They both would think themselves right.

Of the immigrants that have come in recently to the UK Poland is an example. Go and have a look at Polish politics. Indian immigrants and their politics, caste system and religion/culture.

Really,,, my attitudes are a mole hill compared to the mountain of conflict between most immigrants and UK culture. To ignore it is quite simply deluded - as is the idea that those cultural beliefs will be removed in either one or two generations. Go look at Belguim and the North African enclave there. Cultural beliefs are strong, basically "integration" has very little difference to the first pioneers who attempted to subjegate their culture with our own. Have the Welsh been integrate with the English or the Scots or the Irish after 1000's of years ? No, we still have our seperate culture. After all in the world who is to say UK culture has any presidence at all ? In fact UK culture compared to Chinese culture is obviously insignificant in terms of numbers.

The fact is there are 1/2 billion people in India which will have far, far more cultural influence over their decendants and ex pats than a few million of UK citizens - regardless of integration.

Yes they are all part of the UK's cultural history.

Specifically the history of what we did and how those cultures affected ours and their culture is of no doubt.

But there is a stark difference between the UK's culture and in each of the nations you prescribe to.

India has a caste system and an arranged marrage system within that caste, caste's distinguished by the job they are allowed to do, the area they can live in and the social activities they can do.
Pakistan and India favours boy births over girl births, to the extent where there are far more elligble men than women and yes girl births are terminated.
New Zealand has a strong Maori culture where a great hurt is felt at the UK's captain Cook's domination of the ancestoral lands and subjigation of their people. If you in anyway claimed a cultural connection with them they would be VERY offended - violently so as the UK has done it's best to destroy their culture. As an Englishman in their country I was often confronted for the actions of my ancestors - in some way rightly so.
French culture is interesting that it attempts to include all races, but culturally you are either French, and therefore acting in the French manner (no relgion, no nationalism and speak French) and part of French culture, or not French - there is no distinction.

While I applaud your inclusiveness in all cultures I would hit you back with two very stark contradictions.
1) A LOT of cultures have a STRONG and in some case violent case against the UK's cultural history.
2) In no way would those cultures accept the UK being part of their culture, in fact the polarised opposite would be formed - destruction and violation of those cultures by the UK.

You can cherry pick all you want but the fact remains you are not part of those cultures at all. Neither can you state UK culture is inclusive of all cultures - because in most cases they are polarised with our culture or a number of other cultures - impossible cohabitation. At best you can state the UK is tolerant of some cultural practices and where cultural differences arise we agree to disagree.

Now consider Leicester, soon to be an Asian city. Does what you say is your culture of the commonwealth hold sway there ? Is it right to state the UK cultural opinion you have will hold sway or does the cultural background of the Asian population immigrated to Leicester hold sway ? Obviously the latter.

One thing for certain it won't be what I say is my culture and it won't be yours. We will both have to "fit in" as best we can, much like we would if we went to ANY foreign country.

I have lived in 20+ countries in my life time, sometimes for 3 months sometimes for several years and yes I have lived in Leicester and London. Cultural, religeous, financial, political and race conflict exists in all of them - this won't change because it is human nature, witness our disagreement.

I don't like immigration because of the above and I don't like immigration because the only ones profiting from it are those who rent housing. Many have got very rich out of renting poor quality housing with as many people stuffed into them as they can and yes I have witnessed it first hand. Those living in such close quarters then have to tolerate each others cultures, many foreign countries have very deep seated hatreds no matter your or my wishes to the contrary.

When you state majority and minority consider the context of where you live. Leicester will soon be the first city where the majority is Asian and there are many councils where even Christmas decorations are banned - because they are deemed offensive.

While I applaud your views broadly, when I was much younger I would have been there with you. Now I am older and very much recognise that balance doesnt exist.

As an Englishman I have no recognition of my culture, whereas you as a Welshman do. As do the Scots.

I will re-itterate my comment that I put as much viguor and verocity , in fact a lot more so, behind my feelings about Bonnie Greer's comments. I am indiginous to these islands - there might well be immigration and invasion in our history but that simply made us indiginous by the fact we are all here and have our history !

Yes I am offended,,, very offended, especially as I have always treated other cultures and races with respect.

Awards which discriminate the origin both on culture and race, if there was no racial discrimination the categories would be used - as they are in all music outlets.

I am not outraged. I am sorry to hear you think standing up for white culture is piteous, outrageous or sensationalist.

Personally, as a white man I find Bonnie Greer's comment highly offensive, racist and a total denile of my existence, history and culture.

Do you exist ?

If you do exist and you are not offended by Bonnie's comments, what has led you to believe you are of such little worth as to be not offended by a denial of your existence.

I am very happy as a white man to know my history, culture, ethics, morals and be proud of it. I treat all others with respect and equality - what should be none racist. Ant racism applies to me as well,,, yet I don't see it in the UK - far from it.

I am glad you have found a solid relationship in which you prosper.

However, you seem to think BNP supporters are "bitter failures in life". Well everyone fails, I am sure you have failed at some point in your life either in love or in work - it happens. For some of us life turns harsh and failure to recognise and empathise with those leads to a lack of understanding. We all cannot all succeed in everything - fact. Just look at the marrage break up statistics.

Quite simply, just because someone has failed doesn't make their opinions any less valid than yours. They are human, have their opinions based on their circumstances and daily surroundings. If you were in the same position your opinions would be modified by those same circumstances. You seem to be very disingenuous to your fellow humans.

I have travelled to over 20+ countries in the world working mainly in the capitals of each country and I don't recognise either the influences you state as causing the problems in the UK as reflective in other countries at all.

Greece, Italy, Malta and Spain do have to deal with immigration on their borders but they don't have a problem with immigrants taking over cities.

One thing that struck me when I came back to England some years ago was how violent the UK is. In fact during my extended tour of the world I suffered the threat of violence once in New Zealand from the indigenous population - who were very upset about whites taking over their country and rightly so IMHO. In the UK I suffered the threat of violence almost every week.

I cannot think of ANY country other than the USA that has the mix of nationalities similiar to the UK - and the USA is a violent society.

I don't hold with your opinion of Bonnie Greer at all. If I as a white man respect the culture of America, races of Africa and Caribbean, why is my culture and race not even recognised from her lips ?

Personally I found Bonnie Greer's attempts to say we are all from Africa - somehow we are all "African" - extremely upsetting and quite frankly very stupid. Just from a Darwinian point of view Bonnie is totally and utterly wrong. We are seperate races and our DNA shows that, although we have a common ancestor. Just look in the mirror,,, never mind the cultural and religious differences. A very simple point was the mention of the "Letterman" show, Bonnie's culture background is American - and yet she doesn't even seem to recognise this fact, she is VERY confused IMHO.

Bonnie Greer quite simply does not understand what English culture is and yes, as an Englishman I very well understand what my history, morals and ideals are - without it and my ancestors England wouldn't exist. Sorry but Bonnie Greer is quite definately not English.

Why is it my culture is repressed and somehow "offensive" to immigrant minorities ?
Nick Griffin on Question Time 11:36am on 25 Oct 2009 BBC I am sorry to say I simply don't believe the "spin" you are portraying about the "Question Time" program.

The program did not have a broad reflection of the population, the questions were not broadly reflective of current events, neither were the respondants on the panel reflective to the questions being asked.

The whole program was geared towards the BNP being in the spot light with a hostile audience and a hostile panel.

Unfortuantely the BBC has denegrated itself the to low "spin" ethics of the NuLabour party. If you had ANY moral fibre you simply wouldn't make this excuse.

It is wholey and utterly the BBC's responsibility for the content of it's programs, if other questions were supposedly to be tabled it was down to David Dimbley to maintain the impetus, failing that the producer. Lack of experience is not a factor,,,

If anything the QT the "show" has turned me away from seriously considering the BBC as an unbiased reporter of the news.

A typical example of UK news is to have a single sentance:
"The UK's debt is the worst in history".
"5 die in afghanistan in roadside bomb".

Followed by a 5-10 minute article on some rare animal, celebrity or foreign disaster.

I note on almost every occassion where there could possibly be any political backlash on issues the BBC wimps out. You are failing the public.

Where have you been for the last 10 years ?

Do you seriuosly believe any non legal immigrant worker will claim for the "minimum wage" ? Do you seriously believe any immigrant who sees the minimum wage as a months pay for a weeks work won't work for less ? Do you seriously believe that any Polish worker won't work below this thresh hold ? Do you seriously think Polish workers even know what their rights are ?

In my knowledge I have seen employed polish bricklayers who couldnt even create a bond, yet they were employed because they WERE below minimum wage and yes it was for cash and no the work was substandard and no they didnt work harder or more efficiently than a professional they were thrown off the job.

Here's something for you to try, go to your local paper and look at the small ads for cheap rooms to rent. Say you are looking for a room and go have a look who lives there. When you get there you'll most likely find a house with every room taken as a bedroom full of the poor and immigrants.

Now make a calculation of how much the landlord makes, for a 3 bedroom house in the midlands with 5-6 crammed in full of tenent bedrooms you'll get 15-20 thousand a year. Now look at immigration with new eyes.

I've come very much to the conclusion that those with the least ability to cope in the UK system will be most exploited - and yes that means immigration is a tool for the rich to make a lot of money. Immigrants can do nothing other than take such rooms.

Then consider the crime such places generate just simply from sheer dissatisfaction with proximity of too many people if nothing else, then cultural differences, then criminal influences,,,

I've seen a place covered in Nazi graffiti written in Polish, go look at Polish politics.

Of course immigration leads to lower wages and unemployment for the poor. Immigrants will accept cash work, they don't have to pay tax even in legitimate work (see ex-pat status) and even all things being equal there are probably far more qualified/skilled people in Poland than there are unskilled and unqualified people in the UK. What do you expect the unskilled at the bottom of the pile to do in the UK ? Have some common sense.

It is clear to me that immigration into the UK is a one way money making machine for those who can afford to buy property and rent to immigrants, quite simply you cannot loose.

The £200billion was not "pumped into the economy". It was pumped into the banks.

NO. Quantative easing was a measure supposedly to improve the liquidity markets. However, the policy was changed and banks were NOT the target.

Then we have the Bank of England explanation of QE,,, which basically says they are looking after the assets of the very rich IMHO. After all,,, if the rich are given the ability to raise money on what were potentially bad performing assets they can then reinvest that money in what amounted to a fire sale - literally out of the frying pan and into the champagne bath.

Moving targets, QE edition
"Charlie Bean, the Bank’s deputy governor for monetary policy, has just made a speech called “Quantitative easing: An interim report”, in which he rather moves the QE goal posts. ***The policy, we are now told, is not so much about getting banks to lend. It’s more about pushing up asset prices to repair banks’ balance sheets.***

Here’s the relevant bit from the speech:
"Fortunately, increased bank lending is not necessary for Quantitative Easing to work. Indeed, it was precisely because the Monetary Policy Committee expected the additional monetary injection not to stimulate bank lending directly at the current juncture, that the Asset Purchase Facility’s purchases were targeted at assets held primarily by the non-bank private sector. So if the Asset Purchase Facility buys gilts from pension funds or asset managers, they will then have to look for another home for their money. As it is not very rewarding just to hold it on deposit, they are likely to look to put their money into other assets, including equities and corporate bonds. Thus not only does the price of gilts rise as a consequence of the Asset Purchase Facility’s initial purchases, but also the prices of a whole spectrum of other assets. That in turn lowers the cost of non-bank finance and encourages increased corporate issuance. ***Also the rise in asset prices increases wealth and improves balance sheets.*** In this way, Quantitative Easing helps to work around the blockage created by a banking system that is still undergoing a process of balance sheet repair. ..."

Asset inflation got us here, the BoE/Treasury policies of ZIRP/QE are driving the UK straight back there.
