Seba Veron, an heir to Cerezo 3:51pm on 20 Jul 2009 Brilliant Article and pleaseant read as usual Tim. Along with the majority on this page I feel Veron can not be judged on his English days alone and you would have to naive to think so. IMO it was him that glorified the "quarter back" role so badly coveted by Beckham. As an Arsenal fan whose team capitalised on the United team at the time a part of me was happy to see him falter but I knew what a player they had on their hands and even Ranieri made him his priority signed when Abramovichs billions turned Chelsea into who they are today! One episode you have forgotten about was during his spell at Chelsea. In the semi final of the CL when he was brought on half fit and Monaco came back and scored 2 goals! Now I'm not saying it was his fault but it goes to show what Ranieri thought of him bringing him in in such an important game, half fit, even though it didn't work it goes to show how much faith an Italian manager and probably the Italian nation if put in the same situation had in this man, all of which was to no avail in the eyes of the english!!Sums it up really!! In regards to #78 and the whole issue about players leaving if we don't qualify it might be a blessing in disguise. I don't think there would be to many Arsenal supporters crying if Adebayor left. After this seasons offerings you can tell his head has turned! As for Fabregas, wouldn't want to see him go but if a offer of say £35mil came in or more the stability that would give the club and extra players it could bring in might mean it could be a worthwhile deal. I can't see RVP leaving. Unlike the others you can see he cares about the club but as I said if tyhe right offer came in a replacement was in place me personally wouldn't lose sleep over it. It's a very strange team we've got at the moment. For the first time in years theres more players I would prefer to see leave than stay.

Now I'm not saying I want to see them all leave at once but thats a hell of a lot of players I would like to see replaced at some point over the next couple of years and from speaking to other Arsenal fans I think in many eyes this is the group of players that have got us into this mess in one way or the other!

Drogba still key to Chelsea success 3:09pm on 10 Dec 2008 As an Arsenal fan the sooner Drogba goes the better. Can't remember 1 player like him for a while that everytime he plays against us I'm positive hes going to score- the last player was probably Hasselbaink or Duff when he was at Blackburn! As for Chelsea as a whole they're strange to watch at the moment. They've undoubtably got the players they just don't seem to have any direction in terms of play and position and they're defo beatable this season1 I think Essien injury and the lose of Makelle is telling this season and as Wilkins has alreay said if Scolari is getting tired of always having to speak a foreign language maybe this could be a reason for some of their abject displays especially when plan A isn't working?
Review of the week 2:57pm on 10 Dec 2008 Don't mean to be a hater but you could of wrote a better article on the weeks goings on! What about Eboue and the booing? Drogbas on going issues with Chelsea?Zola and Inces immenant departures and how the new breed of managers seemingly not being able to hold their jobs down or their teams up! What about Harry's return to West Ham or even (going back on myself abit) Inces comments on him and Keanes silent assassins who are plotting their downfall!Nice article for an easy read but you have the opportunity to really report on some true up to date stories so please next time use the tax payers money and really look at the real issues not just the funny things!
Wenger wise to appoint Fabregas 4:18pm on 24 Nov 2008 I think Cesc will do well in the future I'm just worried if we were to buy a couple of seasoned pros how well they would work playing under Cesc as he is still very young. The problem is that we have no1 else which really highlights the lack of depth in our squad. Wenger needs to buy in January and then hopefully limp to 4th spot and then just start afresh next season with a big clear out!The likes of Denilson,Bendtner and Eboue shouldn't be anywhere near our first team and Gallas's out burst will hopefully mean questions on our squad will now be answered! What he said was right if only he had done it differently he wouldn't be so ridiculed in the papers rather than being praised like he should be!!
Could Wenger shape new England? 12:49pm on 12 Nov 2008 The future is bright for England with these lads. Hopefully they won't be like Bentley and realise that it takes time to become quality players and even if it means spending a few more years in the reserves and on the brink of the first team in the long run it will be so beneficial for them,Arsenal and hopefully England! I pray to God other smaller teams don't come in and start waving money under their noses and then their off thinking their gods gift with out ever playing in the premiership properly. Good Article Phil, supposedly there's a couple of young Irish lads coming through who are suppose to be brilliant, don't suppose you could spread some light of them could you?
Wenger must cure Arsenal frailty 4:17pm on 03 Nov 2008 I really do worry for Arsenal. Firstly these past few results can not be good for the "youngsters" development. It's all well and good saying that it's a learning curve but if it shoots there confidence to pieces what good is it. If we are going to blood so many "youngsters" then we should do it around seasoned proffessionals and not together! It's situations like this that Arsenal need a solid captain, a man who when things are going wrong will be heard roaring at the "youngsters" to keep going and not giving up! This unfortunately isn't Gallas who has to be up there with the worst captains Arsenal have ever had.

Secondly I'm really worrying about the development of our rivals and the gap that could be in place come next season. Utd and Chelsea aren't losing pace, Liverpool have suddenly found themselves and then you have Spurs and City who come nex season will be stronger. If we don't get ourselves sorted soon we could be stuck in a 4 way play of for 3rd and 4th spot. I find it curious that Fitzman and Hill-Wood both made it clear that it was Wengers choice not to buy established names in the summer. Maybe they agree with the common supporter that we're just not good enough??
