Chelsea will suffer if transfer ban stands 1:59pm on 04 Sep 2009 Whether or not the Chelsea or Eduardo decisions are right or wrong is not the real issue in either case. What is extremely important is the anti English attitude by both Platini and Blatter. Albeit it somewhat over hyped by our media, there is certainly some substance in that claim and whilst we do not get to hear about their respective complaints regarding other countries, both individuals are often reported for their criticism of the English game, as with Platini's comment on EPL balance sheets.

What I find very mysterious is that following decisions made by either EUFA or FIFA, Our Blazers at the English FA continually crawl into their cave without comment, neither for or against any judgement. Not only are the EFA supposed to enforce both EUFA and FIFA rules and regulations they are there to represent our clubs. Most disturbing appears their total lack of influence on either of the governing bodies unlike our friend the SFA, CEO Smith. The EFA are very quick along with the FL to leap all over Leeds and Luton but when it comes to the Big Boys they keep their heads down saying nothing.

Of course Chelsea were wrong in poaching a under 18 yr old without recompense but where on earth were the EFA at the time, surely censor from them was appropriate, after all, he had to be registered with Them !

My guess is that, because of their total ineptitude both Platini and Blatter are walking all over our FA to the detriment the game here in England. I also believe that a 'Case' is being built up against us hosting the World Cup in 2018, as there is little in that prospect which serves their self indulgent purpose.
Life in the old dogs yet 10:15am on 01 Sep 2009 Good result for Man U, albeit it that they were second best for most of the game they ground out 3pts and that's what's it is all about.

The situation I want sorted out is the outrageous treatment of a Manager by a pathetic, jumped up nothing, Mike Dean,,,,Oh! and his nasty little 'Fourth Oficial' too. Both of those officials brought the game into disrepute by there Stalinist attitude and should be severely punished for doing so, it was truly appalling. To all those partisan knock Wenger brigade, I would argue that it matters little who it was, the fact that a referee feels he can treat a Manager so rudely and cause such embarrassment in front of away supporters is dreadful and needs urgent attention. Mike Dean should be suspended for at least 3 months.

This week we have had all the controversy regarding diving but this matter is far more serious, it shows a deep underlying disrespect by referee's for Managers, Dean's actions show contempt and highlight a trend which is going unchecked. Hopefully the Managers Assc. will let all concerned know that Respect has to be earned and that Bullying Referee's will be treated accordingly, refusing their appointment for games would be a good start. Furthermore the Managers Assc should operate a publicly run league table of Referee's performances, quite fair under the current egotistical circumstances.
Will Upton Park violence scupper 2018 bid? 11:45am on 27 Aug 2009 This outrageous behaviour was well organised and inevitable and as usual the small number of brain dead organisers will have kept their heads down and slipped away quietly into the night to celebrate their efforts and to revel in the media coverage.

However, whilst I believe the Met were to say the least, unprepared and that their usually competent intelligence was left wanting, it would be totally unfair the lay the blame at their door. Neither should either club be held responsible, to advocate a ban on Millwall would possibly shift the problem to Charlton or other clubs south of the river.

Following twelve years of Nu Labour the future looks very bleak, it has been all spin and false promise and phoney massaged figures especially on crime. At worst these cretins can expect a community service order, tagging or a very short custodial sentence, assuming that they will be caught. If the media can find a Government Minister to comment we can expect the usual promises of a 'Clean Up' and the threat of severe repercussions for the offenders. The investigations will cost a fortune eventually leading to a handful of evil cretins getting a slap on the wrists, whilst the real problem of cause and appropriate punishment will be swept under the carpet.

As for 2018, this will be wonderful news for Blatter and Platini, who will eventually use it against us at sometime in the near future and Yes, it will effect our bid. It matters little that other countries have 'Better' hooligans than we have, the English disease will undoubtedly be brought forward to our detriment during our bidding for 2018.

This was organised crime, it was serious crime and must be punished accordingly. Until we accept the gravity of this unlawful outrage and take real draconian preventative action, it will continue.
Benitez and O'Neill on the offensive 12:25pm on 25 Aug 2009 Perhaps now, after the Liverpool result, all you ungrateful moaning Villa fans will show Martin O Neil a little more respect. I'm not a Villa fan but am most certainly a supporter of a UK manager who is more than capable of competing with the the so-called best.

Leave the guy alone or go support Walsall, Tamworth, Stourbridge or any other club you can bike to, maybe the Blues !
Manchester City making waves 10:32am on 24 Aug 2009 Sorry Phil but I agree with Junior3777, Whilst Wolves were over awed in the first half, City failed miserably to finish them off and in the second half they almost got a point for their hard work. Considering that Wolves have not yet settled in and missing several first team players, City can consider themselves a little fortunate to have taken all three points.

Must do better.
Clough times at Derby 4:53pm on 28 Jul 2009 With a Dad like Brian it's not difficult to understand that Nigel is a sensible individual, no nonsense and honest. I like it too that he is well grounded and not a chancer, certainly not a poser. If I were a Derby fan I would be delighted to have him as manager and would certainly be prepared to give him five years because you just know he is going to be successful.

I experienced first hand Brian's handling of players who thought they were more important than the club, I saw and heard his put down to those who became greedy, " Here, have a beer and shut the door after you " If Nigel has a fraction of his man management skills then he will be a winner.
Tevez a sound deal for Man City 4:14pm on 14 Jul 2009 Oh Dear, just watched the 'Comming' of Tevez outside City, now it's getting silly, just who do these City fans think they have signed, Pele ?
Messi ? or Barak Obama ? It's all getting a little infantile.

If Tevez plays alongside the Angel Gabriel this coming season he will not score enough to get close to Owen's tally. Man U have become a team again, not a one man show, no shirt throwing, no whinging and no continual threats of taking the ball home. What short memories we have of Ronaldo's attitude, the wink when Rooney was sent off, the diving and posing. Frankly, and I'm no Man U diehard, SAF will be pleased to see the back of both of 'em, they have been a distraction for far too long at the expense of the whole team. My money is on United finishing well above City albeit a fully fit Arsenal will be serious contenders this season.
Tevez a sound deal for Man City 1:10pm on 14 Jul 2009 My following comments may be completely out of the park and whilst of course Tevez is a good buy for any EPL team, just ask yourself why SAF dragged his heels. Was it because of the fee ? or more importantly, that SAF, a real patriot of the beloved game, saw that money going OUT of the game ? Not benefiting another club but a private individual.

I think it was a little of both, too expensive and the money lost to the game. I believe it went against the grain and SAF had serious doubts about handing over a Man U cheque to a management company and if I'm correct, he went up leaps and bounds in my estimation. Furthermore I don't think Wenger would have done it either.

Good luck to the lad, hopefully, now he is the Sole property of Man City, the club who own his registration, FA due diligence accepted, we will see the real Carlos Tevez. Lets hope it is the end of individuals owning the rights to any player.
Why didn't MG Rover's inspectors call in cops? 11:25am on 07 Jul 2009 Nothing at all surprising here, only that you Bob, appear surprised at yet another 'Snow Job' This current Shower of a government have done a truly excellent job during the last decade of deminishing what little democracy we had left. That said, they have been very successful in correctly assessing the majority of the electorate as being stupid, who in turn have sat back and accepted the deceit,lies and maladministration with hardly a groan. Sadly the Nation will accept whatever is thrown up by the Rover enquiry, as with Iraq, Dr David Kelly, the Banks and the MP expenses fiasco. The list is endless but not forgetting the the almost criminal sale of our gold reserves at an historical low, a commodity which was then quickly purchased back by the privateers in the Bank of England, at little or no benefit to the taxpayer or the nation and which at today's price may well have saved Rover

Like the unfortunate employees of Rover, the headlines are soon forgotten and we move on to another debacle to be covered up by yet another 'Snow Job' which will sadly be accepted by the electorate with merely a shrug of the shoulders and total indifference. Whilst not belittling the stress and hardship caused to all those suffering from the loss of Rover, it is but a small chapter in the overall disaster which this Government have brought upon the people of the United Kingdom.
Owen worth Man Utd gamble 11:50am on 06 Jul 2009 To all the Toon fans whinging about wasting a hundred grand a week on Owen. I would rather have Owen at that price than Barton at fifty grand, He gave you more than double the effort and respect that Barton has even shown. The whole dam Circus at St James Park has been unbelievable, the likes of Big Sam, Given and Owen, indeed anyone with any common sense and half a brain are better off out of there.

AND Liverpool fans, after he witnessed the manner in which Keane was treated, I doubt Owen even considered Anfield, Everton would have been his preferred choice after United.

The right time to have this discussion will be in May next year or maybe after South Africa.
