Do you sympathise with Gary McKinnon? 2:35pm on 27 Nov 2009 Why is it that one always gets the feeling that everyone is being economical with facts that dilute their positions and at the same time blowing up out of all proportion facts that support their position.
McKinnon's Aspergers was never thought of until this blew up it seems prior to which he was an atypical Billy No Mates' computer obsessed geek. The US govt shroud in innuendo the actual harm he has done and random costs to repair. The UK govt say they are utterly powerless to give up one of our own subjects to a foreign power (poppy cock) and criminal to even suggest it could be.
About time all stopped and a sense of proportion applied.
That was horrid, Henry 2:16pm on 19 Nov 2009 Forced by the hand of fate to persuade a wayward ball into stridant step and ergo the path of ones mate to grasp victory from the jaws of defeat. Victory secured at the expense of ones combatants.... who of course would never have dreamed of such skullduggery in order to grace that stage of which dreams are made, the World Cup.
A few embrace these card tricks in football too readily...not Henry....though with sleight of hand and foot the most vigilant eyes might not see...he tricked the referee.
Who can blame Henry....not me.

First Brazil struggled to break down our second/third string England team, second it was a friendly so what quality did you really expect, third the pitch looked like a recently plughed fairway bunker and fourth flying from an English Winter immediately into a baking hot Qatar is not good. I bet the brit media got a sweat on just tapping up match reports on their lap tops.
Brazil were not good and were less entertaining than Jedward. England were also as entertaining as listening to a party political broadcast but did what they could with the tools at their disposal.
As for SWP he looked more dangerous than anyone else in the team and to suggest that he works less hard and was less effective than Milner leads me to believe you'd had one over the eight before the match started.
One final point oh! hacked off hacker..George Burley can't paint a Mona Lisa with a Creosote brush. Wales actually have some half decent players at the moment certainly when compared to Scotland. The result was entirely predictable to everyone except the Scottish....
New name for a new economy? 3:00pm on 16 Nov 2009 'Dual Indeptedism' has replaced Capitalism. Private and Public Sector Indeptedness now drives the Economy and Economic Decisions both domestic and corporate.
Practically every person that walks through a shopping precinct feels worse off financially and emotionally than the beggars and street hawkers begging for a few pounds more.
Future Tax and Interest rate rises will further erode the financial state of huge numbers of domestic households leading to widespread trauma and unrest.
Instead of printing money and giving it to banks, inappropriate personal loans and personal debt should be written off to restart the economy and recover the morale of the country.
Corporate casualties in the banking and financial sector are collateral damage. Inevitably smaller and less greedy businesses will rise from the ashes.
The Government should look after the interests of the people it serves ahead of any Business.
Give me a call, Cap! 5:09pm on 12 Nov 2009 Has the honour of playing for ones country fallen under a hail of Roubles, Dirhams and Dollars or is it the physical and mental demands of playing top flight football especially if you add to that European games, that take their toll. Scholes for instance has almost defintely extended his career in the Premiership by at least one maybe two seasons by retiring from International duty.
Most players clearly still think of it as an honour and the pinnacle of ones career, a few do not.
We should not brood over the decisions of the few!
Boxed in 3:39pm on 06 Nov 2009 Thousands upon thousands of businesses and families with already crippling debts are being made redundant or losing their businesses and would quite happily punch the lights out of the nearest politician or reporter trying to tell us we are on our way out of a recession thaks to QE.
This has been the economic equivalent of the Normandy Landings and casualties are still mounting. QE is like medical supplies that never make it to the front line...useless, pointless and ineffective to all but the financial system.
We must let these people in to the safe harbour of QE somehow. Suspend debt repayments until the business or mortgaged property is sold for whatever it fetches and then wipe the rest clean.
RBS and Lloyds re-made by Europe 10:08am on 03 Nov 2009 It seems like the tax payer is providing substantial funding simply to enable these two monoliths to avoid being nationalised or go under.
They can't afford to pay into Gaps and can't afford to stay out of it so we'll give them a randomly calculated x billion so they can do what they want.
Without a significant manufacturiung base we are a rice paper economy laid on artificially laid sand surrounded by angry seas just waiting to wash it away.
Cheap imports built with cheap labour is not fair competition with our own manufacturing base. The global economy is not a level playing field and we should not play in it.

Is all publicity good publicity? 3:41pm on 21 Oct 2009 Why on earth is everyone getting so excited about a party that appears to have few supporters and voters let alone friends and policies that all the other parties can rip to shreds as being utter nonsense??
Benitez faces biggest test 2:21pm on 21 Oct 2009 If you look at the injury lists of almost all the other top teams Liverpool should not be bleating. Unfortunately for them it includes their two best players Gerard and Torres after whom there are no similar quality replacements. Johnson is not as influential as people make out. Very similar in all ways to Micah Richards, big, strong, fast, clumsy and poor positional sense in fact not much between the ears at all it seems.
They'll do okay if SG and FT two stay fit if not they won't, case closed.
