Broad's Ashes spot no longer secure 8:12pm on 03 Aug 2009 Broad should not be dropped. He is the future, as soon as Flintoff retires he becomes an integral part of the side. The only way he will get better, and more streetwise, with his bowling is to play against the best, and the best at the moment are Australia.

He was desperately unlucky not to pick up a few more wickets today, he had both North and Clarke feeling for the ball early in their innings, but as soon as they were settle I don't think any bowling attack in the world would have dislodged them.

If Flintoff isn't fit, I would pick Harmison, shifting Broad up a place and handing him the extra responsibility. Although Headingley is traditionally a swing bowlers ground, if for any reason it doesn't swing our bowling attack is too one dimensional, with Harmison he overs some extra pace and has some previous with the Aussies.
Storm clouds gather over Camp England 10:23pm on 11 Jul 2009 broad has been useless all test match, my instincts say drop him for harmison, but does that send out the wrong signals? also do you drop both spinners and pick rashid, or just one? onions in?
the trouble is, even IF we save the match tomorrow, we still have the same questions and the aussies have all the momentum!

if haddin is a predominately back foot player, he will probably be found wanting in the first few tests, no matter how hard he watches the ball. the swinging ball will always win.
still, he will take most of the catches, probably more than prior....

it is just a shortened version of the game to try and appeal to the younger generation, myself included.
It should not, and never will be allowed, to displace test cricket, but it is just a shorterned version.
I for one have thoroughly enjoyed the tournament so far, and anyone other than indian fans would have been mesmerized by the england game last night.

i dont think blair has been treated badly
he was hulled in at the last inute for o'leary, and in the game he played in he delivered awful ball all game, not allowing the fly half to move the back line.
if you watch scotland, that is often what happens there too.

in that case,id have jenkins, rees, hines, powell, phillips, o'gara and kearney.
jenkins is a very good prop, but every time i think of sheridan i think of how he destroyed the aussies. he turns it on for big games.

How many xactly are allowed on the bench?
Haka-attack! 6:38pm on 27 Nov 2008 Bloody kiwis are always harping on about the haka. The only way to take it is to respnd otherwise they get a massive psychological advantage. I thought what Wales did was great.

On the contrary cockneywire France faced down the haka in 2007 and won, so maybe there is something in it.
Pietersen revels in his coronation 5:18pm on 04 Aug 2008 Very valid point by the first poster- I have lost all respect for Agnew over the past couple of weeks- he continually has a chip on his shoulder about somebody, be it Pietersen, Strauss, Panesar, Vaughan or anyone else for that matter.

I think this is an inspired and very courageous pick by the selectors. Pietersen will be an inspirational captain, and with Strauss, Collingwood and others alongside him, he will get the advice he will need. Moreover, I think the responsibility will calm his temperament and make hi m play more sensibly.

However, Peter Moores must go if we lose over the winter, and defenitely after the Ashes, win or lose.

ambrose just isn't working, give foster a try, and bring back broad! just his batting is worth a place!
i would bat broad at 7, poss even 6 he defenitely has the potential to be a top class allrounder.
