True greatness beckons for boy racer 10:35pm on 03 Jun 2009 Re Chrissie Wellington, ironman triathlons are pretty popular and in my opinion more of a genuine triathlon than the olympic distance where it usually turns out to be a foot race after a bunch swim and bunch cycle!! I believe the statistics are entered 8, won 8.
Personally since introducing drafting in the olympic distance its a total farce, boring to watch and I do hope the olympics ditch it.

The biggest events, for the largest number of people 9:03pm on 10 Mar 2009 Can't believe the complainers on this article. £11 per month buys the BBC channels, all the radio plus all the internet site, good value I believe.
All those saying loads of people watch the sky sports, look at the figures, they don't match up. This F1 being unwanted / unwatched 4million average = 1 person in 16 in G.B. not bad (not me I think its quite dull).
General standard of coverage I think is much better, my parents have sky sports but I'm not impressed, waffle, waffle and more waffle then the game, then more waffle.
I'd love more coverage but radio does a damn good job and if you'd heard some of the world service African nations, that's entertaining!!!!
Is Britain an Olympic superpower? 10:27pm on 27 Jan 2009 Olympians not giving abck to their sport, what the ++++.? Have a look and see what support some of them are giving at grass roots.

Hats off to people like Alistair Brownlee, 12th in the triathlon but still happy to compete in local fell races. New years Eve fell race in Haworth was happy to compete in freezing temperatures. He came 2nd, lost his course record and at the finish it was -5!! Still hasn't won a bunny run though......
London confidential 9:55pm on 26 Jan 2009 If people actually did their jobs, no gagging orders would be needed. Some pathetic little jobsworth can mouth off for a few quid to the papers, they'll publish and the olympics look stupid.
I'm british, proud of it, and am delighted the olympics are coming to London. (FYI, I live in West Yorkshire!!). If people stop looking for a story, don't believe the hype from the media and actually look at the facts then by 2012, be prepared for the party of your lives for 2 weeks!!!
Ince forced out by fear factor 6:44pm on 16 Dec 2008 Total disgrace from Blackburn. I liked the club, but hope that one of these clubs which are so callous with their sackings goes down.

My respect for Fulham, West Ham and now Blackburn have gone down, their attitude doesn't deserve success.

Certain theirs other clubs as well but have forgotten them!! Total disgrace from Blackburn, I hope you go to the Championship, sorry to their fans..

Next stop London 8:15pm on 25 Aug 2008 I think the BBC has done a tremendous job in covering the games. The red button has provided a huge variety and those who have written 'only the British were covered' obviously didn't use it!!! The blogs have been fantastic, some serious some tongue in cheek, some mischievous, some thought provoking. No I haven't agreed with all but I have readwith interest the comments afterwards.

One observation though is some bloggers really do have a problem with being British and so nothing but denigrate everything. There seems to be evry little positive in what they write.

If this country is so poor and the TV coverage so bad, do everyone else a favour and go and live elsewhere, Britain would be better off without you!! Others have done Britain proud with comments again, the debate has been fascinating, shame some comments showed our country up!! Can't wait for 2012, bring it on, Britain will do the Olympics proud!!
Dose of long jump joy relieves Chambers headache 1:48pm on 13 Jul 2008 He knew when he took the drugs if he got caught he was banned from the olympics. That has been in place since '92 (I think), athletes wanted it.

Now to complain about it once he is caught is hypocritical to say the least. He is only banned from the olympics, he should have the decency to accept this, he can go to the worlds, commonwealth, europeans etc but for once the BOA have done something positive about drugs.

The public should be proud that someone is doing something positive, I'm certain David Millar would love to go to the Olympics and he has a better chance of a medal than Dwain but he has some sense of morals and accepts the punishment.

Personally 2 years is a joke for drug offences, I'd happily ban them for longer. Cheats should NOT prosper, Chambers was a cheat his punishment was 2 years out plus no Olympics ever!!!
