I can not believe the vile that you are spewing, you need a reality and mental sanity check. Black people in America will not resort to violence if Obama loses, and Obama and his team are not looking for money and paybacks.

Humbling of our banks 7:11pm on 12 Oct 2008 The mind really does boggle, seriously Robert I think its time we taxpayers had a better return. No one is coming to our rescue this cold winter, our wages have not gone up, basic fuel and price of goods keep going up. When will someone come and bail us out? This is nothing but sickening. I am very disappointed in all the major banks. Its always been ok to charge us to the hilt but in return the banks can make a healthy profit come the next term.

B&B: end of an era 11:08am on 28 Sep 2008 If there is a silver lining to all this madness, I for one hope that those who are first time buyers will finally be able to buy a house to live in and not for investment purposes.

As a society we brought this on ourselves...we became too greedy with visions of ever increasing house prices.

Thankfully, a market correction is needed no matter how painful it is. Its going to be a long, cold and dark winter.

Welcome to the world of Mr Preston, Robert where do you get your information from? You have to open up your sources as you mentioned that a lender was possibly going to get nationalised a last week, surely we have a right to know this information.

I'm disappointed that again the taxpayer has to come in and help these crooks. Let it go the wall, if director greed is not checked then where will it stop?

One giant leap 10:59pm on 27 Sep 2008 I am immensely proud of our Chinese friends, onwards and upwards. I ts great seeing such pride in your country, I only wish we Brits shared as much passion as yourselves, instead we have become leaders of binge drinking and teenage pregnancies..how times have changed.

Well done to everyone involved in this successful mission.

The US citizens should rise up in revolt due to this sham being played on them. Its all about the big players playing the field, shaft the average Joe.

In fact we should all start to become bankers and print our own money that is based on 'DEBT'
The American way to fail 10:00am on 19 Sep 2008 Just how much is the US debt standing now? So the taxpayer has to be pay a trillion dollars for this bad debt, this is just crazy.

With rising costs of the Iraq/Afghan war, financial system next to collapse, spiralling debt, the American dream is turning into an American nightmare.

Whoever becomes the next president of the US will have a huge task of reducing the debt headache imposed on the general populace.
How banks depend on AIG 05:11am on 17 Sep 2008 Seems like the US govt has delivered an early Xmas present to it's residents by rescuing AIG for 85bn for an 80% public state. Sadly, again its the taxpayer who is at a greater loss, how can they justify a rescue package of such size?

Where did the US Fed Reserve get such a loan? Is it paper money chasing paper money?
What is the guarantee that this will be tied to any secure assets apart from the goodwill of the tax payer?

Again the directors of such a company must be very pleased with themselves, pocketing huge personal funds and then going cap in hand to the govt to bail them out. Just wish I could open a business as such and do the same.

As for my comment on oil, major companies have huge reserves of oil and its amazing that there is no 3month turn around at the price at the pumps in fact its less than 3 days for the price to go up.

What we need in this country is a way to monitor the price of oil against inflated prices. We need a regulator to honestly measure this value rather than the govt taxing us all to death.

We need better infrastructure if it takes 3month for a price correction for oil then surely that is pretty poor. I do feel that the likes of Shell, BP et al have better infrastructure and the price of oil should be reflected a lot faster once it drops.
As many of you I'm not a financial expert in any sense or an oil investor but just an avg Joe who keeps getting shafted by the govt over taxes.

Anyway...I hope my US pals enjoy the AIG early xmas present.

Barrel of oil is now set at $90 brent and crude. Why is this price not being reflected at the pumps in the UK?

Sadly it shows that once price goes up on something it very rarely goes down...this winter is going to be a long, dark and a very bloody cold one for many of us.
How banks depend on AIG 6:49pm on 16 Sep 2008 AIG can simply not fail, if they do then let it be known the Premiership Football will again be in tatters. Who is going to support Man Utd now as AIG are the or were the official sponsors of one of the most supported clubs in the world.

On a serious note, is downright scary when an Insurance company is eroding confidence in the financial market. Words escape me what to say...how can a company who has holding assets of more than a trillion dollars and shareholders’ equity of about $79.7bn go to the wall?

Can someone please explain?
