Comeback kings conquer the world 8:03pm on 21 Jun 2009 My alias was chosen many years ago as a tribute to Shahid Afridi but to my utter astonishment he finally used his brain cells in this tournament. I dont know if they transplanted Mohammad Yousuf's brain into Afridi's head but he transformation during the tournament has been amazing, not just Afridi but the whole team.

AND PAKISTAN WON THIS TOURNAMENT WITH THEIR SECOND TEAM!!!!

I said before that I was looking forward to life after this tournament when Pakistan recall all the ex-ICL players - imagine how formidable Pakistan will be in 20/20 and ODI with Imran Nazir, Imran Farhat, Mohammad Yousuf, Rana Naved, Mohammad Asif and possibly Shoaib Akhtar.

The talent in Pakistan is incredible.. they can unearth 17 yr old bowlers like Aamir from nowhere.

And now they seem to have added the missing ingredients to the abundant talent i.e. the right temperament and attitude (possibly with the help of a sports psychologist). The whole team stuck to a plan, didnt panic, played sensibly and pulled off a sensational victory.. they played Mendis and Murali without any problems at all. Mendis looked like a nobody in front of the Pak batsmen

WELL DONE PAKS. NOW GO WIN THE CHAMPIONS TROPHY AND DEFEND THE 20/20 in 9 MONTHS!!!!!!

What makes you so sure that Australia will go through? Sri Lanka are a very strong team and I have a feeling they will beat the Aussies today! Say goodbye to Australia and Pakistan!
England get through with sheer guts 3:24pm on 08 Jun 2009 Younus Khan's comments about "fun cricket" are an insult to every Pakistani fan. People pay to watch these jokers who dont appear to give a damn. So his pathetic comments are a complete disgrace.

Otherwise, this must be the weakest Pakistan team I have ever seen. In the past, the Pakistan batting could compensate for the bad bowling and dispicable fielding. However, this is no longer the case. The batting has only 2 reliable performers - Misbah ul Haq and Younus Khan - and for some bizarre reason Misbah was sent in at number 7! The rest of the batting is weak and feeble, technically, physically, mentally - in every way you look at it.

However, to put it all into perspective we must appreciate 2 things:

(1) Pakistan have played less cricket than even Bangladesh in the past 2 years.

(2) The team has been decimated by players lost to the ICL and those that have self-destructed. The likes of Imran Nazir, Imran Farhat, Mohammad Yousuf, Abdur Razzaq, Mohammad Asif, Shoaib Akhtar, Rana Naved would have made it into the 20/20 team. It is not easy to replace these players but the current bunch have shown no fighting spirit and I feel they will be flying home very soon if they dont wake up!

A sad era for Pakistan cricket.
