I don't know how much golf knowledge you have with a comment like 'Sean o'hair is nobody'
The guy has had 4 top ten finishes on the PGA tour this year, has earned over $1.5m, 8th in the Fed-ex cup race and is in the worlds top 50!

As for all those that are saying' Tiger wins becaue his opponents bottle it..'
All Tiger can do is beat what is in from of him, simply as that. If you think opponents 'bottle it' that's thier problem, not Tigers.
The fact that he has that kind of aura about him says something- it was the same thing when you had the likes of Mike Tyson and Federer at thier best..
Very few sportsman ever have that, Tiger has it.
McIlroy ready for the big time 12:38pm on 03 Feb 2009 Please, please don't do the usual British sporting press thing....overhype a young, promising sportsman when he has some success and then if he suffers a dip- start slating him.
McIlroy is no world beater yet.
He's a very good player with a bright future but to start making comparisions with Woods or claims about his composure based on one bunker shot is just wrong at this stage of his career.
Let him become a multiple european tour winner, then compare him to similar players.
Let him become a race to Dubai winner then compare him to the Montgomries/Westwoods...
Then see him win PGA/WGC events....
Australia outdone by a superior side 11:50am on 12 Nov 2008 I think you are getting a bit carried away.
Firstly not sure how you can say this was 'unthinkable', India were favorites at home.
India beat the aussies not that long ago at home and drew away, so it shouldn't suprise anyone that they won.
Aussie dominance is coming to an end- don't get me wrong- they'll still challenge for the no 1 spot, but it will be a lot harder for them and it will involve series defeats at times.
I'm not sure things are going to be that easy for India though-Ganguly and Kumble have already retired and it's only a matter of time before Tendulker and Dravid call it a day. The loss of these 4 will have a similar effect as losing Mcgrath and Warne did for the Aussies.
You can't replace the experience of these players in the short term particular away fom home no matter how talented the youngsters are.
I think we are looking at an interesting time in test cricket- India, Aussies, England and SA are all going to be competing for the 'best in the world' title.

At the end of the day, Faldo's captaincy- Faldo's way.
If he fails to win then he won't go down with his peers like Seve, Woosnam or Torrance.

There's been too much of Darren Clarke bandwagen in the last couple of weeks because of a victory in Holland.
As someone already stated it was not a top quality field for that event and Clarke has had his problems with consistency this season.
He would have been behind Poulter and Pettersen in my book.
I personally would have gone for Carl Pettersen as he's won on the PGA Tour, playing well, plays over there so a US based Ryder Cup would have been perfect for him but Faldo was never going to pick him.
Poulter at the end of the day is world no 23 and that has to count for something but I don't think his actions have helped his cause nor the public perception that Nick Faldo is his mate.
Golf and the Olympics, not as daft as it seems 11:31am on 20 Aug 2008 No it shouldn't!. It is the inclusion of sports like Golf that have further cheapened the Olympics.
Any sport that does not consider the Olympics the pinnacle shouldn't be included!. For a golfer the Majors are always going to be the pinnacle of thier career not a gold medal.
That's why tennis shouldn't be in the Olympics, the exception being football as it has a different set of rules for the Olympics encouraging mainly young players.
The Federer circus rolls into town - but not the village 3:04pm on 08 Aug 2008 This demonstrates perfectly why sports like Tennis shouldn't be in the Olympics in thier current format.
Fair enough- you are superstar but the Olympics are meant to be special.
Simple way to fix this is unless as a competitor you stay in the village you don't get acreditation. With all the drugs scandals recently it probably wouldn't be a bad thing to keep the competitors together.
Let's face it- the leading tennis players consider the majors above the Olympics.
For Track and field, swiming etc.. an Olympic gold medal is the pinnacle in tennis and other sports it is not- it's just another event. The IOC should organise these sports in a different way if they are to include them like they have with the football competition.

Not sure how this is a more balanced team. Flintoff is not a test quality #6 batsmen.
The average demonstrate this- compare his average to the other leading nations #6:
Flintoff 32.46
De Villers 40.85
VVS Laxman 43.48
A Symonds 44.65

England batting lineup is under pressure as it is, I don't see how this is going to help.

Broad is not a test quality bowler- he averages 49.36 for his 19 wkts in 8 tests. If as some people are implying he should be a batsmen that bowls- then doesn't it make sense to play him at 6 and let him prove it. See if he can be a test #6?

Play Broad at 6, Flintoff at 7 and Ambrose 8.
Though again Prior averages over 40 while Ambrose average is 26- he's not that much of a better wicketkeeper when you compare the batting.

If England want a balanced side long term bat Prior at 6, Flintoff at 7 and a bowling attack of Sidebottom, Harmison, Jones and Panesar.

Firstly, I don't know what you are doing on this BBC blog, you'd be a lot happier spending time with like minded people on FOX!.
As for attacking anyone and everyone.... the Amercian right and the radical islamists are making this a much less safer world for the vast majority, who are moderate people.
Oh yes lets all compare it to Hitler and start WW3 makes sense...
Five batsmen not enough for England 10:42am on 22 Jul 2008 The real problem is the bowling, England have failed to get SA out in the last two innings for less than 500, this puts pressure on the batting and it's very unlikely going to win you a test. At worst it should have been 1-1.

I find all this talk about Broad as a number 6 batsmen ridculous- maybe against NZ but against the Indians in the winter or the Aussies next summer??

Dropping Vaughan as well, he's a world class batsmen that is going through a bad patch, plus the captain. You've already dropped Collngwood so who leads England in a tough series like this??, someone with no experience.

I don't get people critising Freddie either- he's just come back, he bowled 40 overs for 77 and scored 38. He is the English bowler any test side in the world doesn't want to face!
People critical of Monty would do well to remember that he took 4-74 in the first innings at Lords.

If you are going to make changes, bring Prior in and bat him at 6.
Sidebottom hopefully back and there has to be a strong case to include Jones (32 wkts at 16).
Give Broad a break- he's young, tired and ultimately he's been picked as a bowler ( 18 wkts at 47 in 08') not a batsmen.
