Why is it a shame that I am a Big Lewis Fan – is there something wrong with that? Lewis may have been supported by McLaren since he was 13 actually, but he had to prove himself every step of the way – it wasn’t handed to him on a plate. He won every championship he ever entered. Not many in F1 can say that. And there was the odd year when he wasn’t supported by McLaren if his results weren’t up to scratch. Do you expect McLaren to not admire and be supportive of a guy with such talent who won them a World Championship?

Of course I am biased towards Hamilton as a Hamilton fan. Why should I give Button a break? Have you seen the comments from his fans about Lewis on his FaceBook page? They certainly don’t give Lewis a break, and neither do the British media.

The rest of your post just confirms what I said in my first post – the phrases “second fiddle”, “will McLaren provide him with a car which can help him to challenge or back Lewis up?” just sum up what the British media will be banging on about next year.

Lewis will be the baddy, favoured in the team, too competitive(?), has the car designed around him (complete rubbish), evil daddy in the garage, blah blah blah.

Jenson will be the goody, given unequal equipment and opportunities, car not designed to suit his "smooth" style, lovely chap of a father snubbed by Daddy Hamilton.

You just wait.

Poor Lewis - he has another year of mauling by the British media to look forward to just because he is so good at what he does and doesn't fit the stereotype that a lot of Brits think should be good in F1. Another year when he'll need strength of character - what a nonsensical decision to hire Button.

Not a dream team, more a nightmare team.
What Mercedes buy-out of Brawn could mean 5:54pm on 16 Nov 2009 The bias with which British journalists write about Hamilton and Button is absolutely astounding. It is like Button is “our boy” and Hamilton “the other one”. It makes me sick. Not every British person is a Button fan you know.

Look at this article: Button prefers a car “which he can control with his delicate application of throttle and brakes” – gosh a more fawning and biased description of driving styles I don’t think one could have.

And didn’t Lewis have a one-stop strategy at Turkey this year and managed to handle his tyres perfectly well. This is another stupid anti-Hamilton myth that has been propagated by the prejudiced British media – it is actually a fact that Heikki is a lot harder on his tyres than Lewis according to McLaren’s head of engineering, Paddy Lowe, but you hardly ever hear about that.

Stop painting Lewis as the villain who controls everything and makes everything difficult.

I wish all F1 fans were as decent, honest and sporting as you, but unfortunately there are some very twisted individuals out there who get to blog nasty, vindictive, stupid comments anonymously behind their computers. Hamilton revels in sweetest of victories 8:40pm on 26 Jul 2009 I'm so pleased for Lewis and McLaren. He now has the car and wow, look what he can do with it! He is just phenomenal. Without doubt, THE class act of the field.
Hamilton releases the pressure 3:36pm on 07 Jun 2009 The McLaren was NOT the best car in 2007 and 2008. The Ferrari was definitely up there, if not a touch better. But at least there was a fight for points instead of the walk in the park this year.

Hamilton releases the pressure 1:11pm on 07 Jun 2009 I don't blame Lewis for feeling down this year. He is a born winner and competitor and his car is not up to the job. To compound this, the British media are the vilest in existence, and especially when they have another Brit (who some prefer for their own unpleasant reasons) they love to put the boot into Lewis and embellish the truth about what he does and says. It's not the first time he has struggled in his racing career - he hasn't always won. But this is the first time it has been done in the glare of ridiculous publicity and bad reporting. His fans know what a great guy Lewis is and despite the media wanting to turn his fans away, they are just getting behind him even more. Win or lose, Lewis is the best. Button (and his teammate), neither of whom have done anything of note in F1, are just riding the crest of a wave in the best car by a mile on the grid. Last year Button was always moaning about his car, and never mentioned his Honda team toiling in the factory, but he never got anything like the criticism Lewis is getting now. Go figure!

McLaren's race against time 09:51am on 11 Mar 2009 I guessed they were in trouble as soon as they started using the 2008 wing in previous tests. It's amazing how people are just cottoning on now. As a Lewis fan I am worried, but if he can't defend his title this year because of a rubbish car, it won't be his fault.
F1 editor, the best job in the world 3:15pm on 06 Mar 2009 I will be quite happy if you make the coverage a Lewis-fest. Lewis is why ITV's F1 veiwership went though the roof.
