Olympic rules need a rethink 2:07pm on 18 Aug 2008 Why has everyone complained and 'ballotted' John Whitaker and Peppermill out of the team event? I'm surprised that there is hostility like this in equestrian sport. Surely the welfare of his horse was more important? Is it in the rules that a horse cannot compete in the second round if it has not jumped the first?
Don't be disappointed with Britain's double bronze in Hong Kong 08:47am on 13 Aug 2008 What a competition! Well done Tina and the team. Whilst watching the dressage her horse and the eventual winner, Marius were the 2 horses who really shone. The top 3 individual postions were unquestionably the right 3 to take medals home.
I thought the BBC coverage was exceptional - especially the show jumping - the showed it live (rare!) and gave great highlights at 7pm for those who may have missed it..
Bring on the dressage and the pure show jumping! Go Team GB!
The thrill of the cross-country chase 5:49pm on 11 Aug 2008 It struck me that the time was the most influential factor in this cross country competition. While every element of the 3DE is crucial, some riders are out there under team orders - take Lucinda Fredericks - she sacrificed personal glory and a potential individual medal for the sake of her team. That is the true spirit of the Olympics and this competition.
Parkmore Ed trots on to Olympic stage 10:04am on 09 Aug 2008 Ballincoola was William's other horse. I'm not sure why he is not riding him.
