Lily unites musicians against file-sharing 7:43pm on 26 Sep 2009 Not much to add to this debate, other than state my position, this idea is outrageous. It is not justice under any test. I also add I don't do file sharing, that is not the point. Why others on here assume that every one who does not agree with Lilly Allen must be an aggrieved file sharer I have no idea... have you not heard heard of a thing called "A matter of Principle"

For what it is worth, every time a busker plays "all along the watchtower" or an other tune that is not theirs including "Happy Birthday to you" they should be paying a royalty to "The Performing Rights Society" (I know they have changed their name recently) or be licenced by them to pay it... They (the Buskers) and bang to rights, you can prove they are the villain, come on Lilly and Crew, get out on the streets and demand your just deserves.. but watch out I think that they may feel moved to do a cover of Lilly's "**** You" ... come one let's all sing along.

You are quite right mate, I must confess to not having lost work due to visiting Australians. I merely trotted out the old cliche see how it sounded the other way round. That said, there is one qualification that visitors from the antipodes have that an equally skilled, experienced etc. Brit, or European does not... that is the guarantee that they won't be staying permanently, therefore no worries about pensions, redundancy and all that. They have built in natural wastage, that makes them, on and even field, more attractive to hire.

Anyway, this thread is about sharks, and people being mutilated. Maybe the odd story about a Pitbull on the loose in Earls Court would be the equivilent.

My son is half Australian and can go live there when he likes, I have nothing against Australians, quite the opposite =8¬)

Please, there was one episode which was only broadcast on election day years ago, it was on this website, but seems to have disappeared, I so very much would like to see it. Can you tell us where it has gone... please please please.

ps. my Ten year claims the clangers were his favorite programme when he was a "kid" (sadly no longer have a VHS so the two videos I bought are unplayable)... please put the missing episode back online.

If the beeb has a left bias (which I seriously don't think it has) the people generally commenting appear to be from Tory Central Office. In fact I feel that only a piad up member of the British National Party could seriously think that BBC news is left slanted.

I might also add that previous posts concerning the embarrassing sucking up to the USA elections on BBC news was horrible. As one person said, "could you imagine that happening when Mrs Thatcher was being elected, just because she was a woman?"
One thing we have learned in Britain is that have a 'first' what ever as leader counts for absolutely nothing. Nice con-trick, Obama seems like a decent chap, but he won't be able to do anything with the legacy he has passed onto him. In other words he has been set up to fail, you'll see how historic that is. He is going for a prat fall, thanks to the last 8 years of Bush. The Republicans did not want to win, you could see how happy McCain was in his acceptance of defeat speech, "Mission Accomplished", the black guy gets it.

Anyway, please spell in English when writing for a British Public Service organisation, we don't want our kids to grow up illiterate like GWB now do we?

Have you not noticed that Red and Blue are reversed in the USA... what on earth do you mean? Very poor indeed, espicially as this phase was used as a headline on the home page, leading to this article. Really expect better from experienced journalists, or is it your job just to confuse people?

Google - is the love fading? 2:17pm on 05 Sep 2008 @ whiteforte: I checked the google docs EULA for google docs and the licence says the exact opposite of your statement that google claim rights to your writing in google docs.

I think you were looking at the wrong EULA, cheer up mate, I am a journalist too, the very idea that Google could swipe the IP to work my collegues and I share on Docs is inconceivable.
