Changes to international pages (4) 5:33pm on 06 Jul 2009 I give up! A once-great web site has been butchered for no good technical reason. Methinks timesonline.co.uk is going to be the home page of many enforced exiles. So sad and unnecessary.
Changes to international pages (3) 1:02pm on 26 Jun 2009 I followed Steve Herrmann's advice and emailed SiteVersionsFeedback@bbc.co.uk on 23rd June with a subject code of 'Postcode error'. Guess what! Not even an acknowledgement.

Changes to international pages (2) 4:22pm on 15 Jun 2009 Unfortunately your form does not recognise my company's post code in the City of London. Like many companies. we have been awarded our own post code in a City of London building but, it seems, whichever software you use to validate post codes does not recognise this fact.

I thank you for at least making an attempt to deal with this spiralling problem but you may find a lot of post codes will be rejected for the reason given above.
Changes to international pages 2:13pm on 13 Jun 2009 I am very surprised by SH's asserion that very few people used the customisation function. I would be interested to see some statistics to back this up.

I have already posted (369?) but I must reiterate that this to me smacks of a designer's attempt to impose his ideas rather than a genuine attempt to improve a site using user feedback.

I will be interested to see if this blog will be taken notice of or whether the BBC are just allowing people to let off steam.
Changes to international pages 12:37pm on 12 Jun 2009 As a London worker who accesses the site via a Dutch IP address, I very much regret the changes and, judging from the comments above, am in a large majority. I have a feeling that (being an IT Manager myself) no user feedback was obtained before the changes were proposed and implemented. I get the impression that a direction was designed and pushed through without a great deal of thought from the user's point of view and only examined from a technical point of view. A very poor way to implement a system, in my opinion, and one that does no credit to the BBC name.
TMS changes explained 5:23pm on 22 Aug 2008 I have listened to TMS on and off since my very young schooldays in the late fifties and admit that change is necessary. I think that Jonathan Agnew has been a great senior correspondent and enjoy CMJ, Henry Blofeld and Simon Mann. As far as the summarisers are concerned, I put Mike Selvey at the top of the pile because of his erudite approach to the game so feel it is a big step back to get rid of him (unless there are other reasons of which we are not privvy). I am reasonably positive about geoff Boycott but I feel that he is turning into Fred Truman - a parody of himself. I'm ambivalent about Graham Gooch but feel that is a wrong move to continue with Alec Stewart as a lead summariser - dull as ditchwater. Viv marks is reasonable.

I daresay that we shall get used to the changes (as we always do) but, at the moment, I believe that the dropping of Mike Selvey for 'new blood' is a wrong decision.
Pietersen will bring a new style of leadership 12:11pm on 05 Aug 2008 Why on earth do the selectors feel that wwe need one captain for all sides? Australia (who are not bad at the game) has gone for two captains.

Have we lerned no lessons from the last Ashes series? We promoted a talented but (by the nature of what he does) self-centred person to the captain's role. The result was a 0-5 whitewash. Are we destined to repeat this?
By-election reactions 4:56pm on 23 May 2008 We are going through a mirror-image of the Decline and Fall of the Conservative Empire between 1995 and 1997. It will be interesting to see if GB (or whoever is the Prime Minister) will try to go through the full five-year term and defy Post-WWII history to become the first Prime Minister to retain power. (The nearest, I think, was John Major calling the 1992 election just before 5 years were up.)
