Haye does what he has to do 01:07am on 09 Nov 2009 Sounds like some want to over haul the rules to suit their own objective opinion. Haye won fair and square by being the smarter, busier and more clinical of the 2 fighters. Isn't that, among other things, what the judges are looking for?

You cannot stand toe to toe with someone like Valuev and expect to win. As champion, surely you should have the skills to adapt to your opponents strategy and counter? Valuev didn't in my opinion.
Haye does what he has to do 2:44pm on 08 Nov 2009 Haye could have done more but I still think he did enough in my viewk. First couple of rounds was finding out what Valuev had, what his strategy was etc I think Haye was a little scared of getting caught by Valuev but he took the shots well.

Sometimes its just about doing what's needed.
Haye does what he has to do 11:45am on 08 Nov 2009 A brilliantly executed plan by Haye last night. Contrary to what some think he should have done, there was no way Haye was going to stand toe-to-toe with Valuev and I never expected him to. You make the bigger guy move, you get in hit and get out. Hayes work rate was excellent and whilst Valuev landed some good shots, just didn't do enough.

Are sportspeople right to retaliate? 1:34pm on 08 Oct 2009 Not sure what's worse, the fact people hide behind the "I payed my money I can say whatever I want" or the fact they've probably paid money with the sole intention of using the kind of language they do.

I agree with E-Type, they hide behind mass crowds to get away with it but I'm a big believer in if you can't take it don't give it. Its always the same though, the fans dish out abuse then cry to the authorities when they get it back.

But why does it seem this is only a major issue in football?

Button deserves credit for rearguard fight 12:32pm on 28 Sep 2009 Button got off to a fantastic start and has then just kept his points total ticking along. The Brawns were the vastly superior cars for the early stages of the seasons but how many 1-2's have they managed??

You're not going to have it all your own way all the time during a championship. Button knows this, Brawn knows this. When its not going your way its about digging in and just trying to pick up points. Button has done that with some really good drives.

If he wins, he will deserve it

But its all irrelevant to me since whoever scores the most points, wins the championship and deserves to be called World Champion. It really is that simple.

As for whether Briatore and Symonds' resignation saves Renault from punishment I guess will come down to if the FIA are satisfied that they are the only 2 personnel (Piquet aside) who had anything to do with it.

Button back on song in title chase 11:45am on 14 Sep 2009 Its actually quite simple - the driver with the most points wins and deserves to win the Championship. Whether that is Barrichello, Button or whoever. Yes Button had a down turn in results but is it his fault no other team were able to fully capatilize on that? No. Even during his down spell Button was still picking up points with the exception of Spa. Or would people rather the sport went with Mosley's idea of the championship being decided on race wins alone? Brawn and his team have gone away, worked out where they went wrong and seem to have fixed it which does not bode well for the rest of the field.

As for Hamilton, I think its fantastic he was pushing to the very end because that's what they're supposed to do and what I want to see. Last lap, 1.5 seconds down and he won't give up. Its a shame he lost it coming out the corner. You have to take risks and sometimes they don't work out.
Running Hungaroring 3:38pm on 04 Aug 2009 @Alanfan - maybe at that time, that was the case but Massa's situation deterioated or further tests found something which led to surgery. We don't know the full story so you're basically guessing.

Also, it was a live transmissions. No one knew what EJ was going to say and I fully believe EJ said it believing it to be true to re-assure people.
