- Man City target Manuel Pellegrini announces he will leave Malaga 08:54am on 23 May 2013 So it seems that city, as per usual, have decided to follow Man Utd and will appoint the spanish version of David Moyes. Fair enough. He's a decent enough coach.
- Jose Mourinho's Chelsea return could be a risk 3:37pm on 22 May 2013 @365 I'm a fan of Rafa (as u well know). Think he was a little disappointing @cfc however, given he was in a number of comps when he got the job. BUT it would be interesting 2c what he'd have done had he been allowed 2 stay on. Under him it was closest LFC ever got 2 winning league in 20odd years & that was against a top class Utd side w/CR7 & Rooney in their pomp!

Le Havre poached him from Torcy who took him from Roissy. That was b4 Utd got him as a 16yo. Would cesc have developed as much as he did @Ars if he was @barca. Look @Thiago 4 example. Who's 2 say he wouldn't b a better player if he was @another club playing more 1st team games?

@174 Messi thoughts aside, I genuinely think the barca vintage of 08, or even 10 is better than 2013. As 4 Spurs, well they beat us home & away in grp stage so final @OT shouldn't matter.
@176 Barca do have a world class academy system, but like all good sides, they supplement it w/transfers. Eg villa, sanchez, alves etc. Cesc left @16, IMO a large part of his education&progress was @Ars. -

@171 Exactly my point, cfc & largely Real as well, were simply able 2 nullify barca & get a result against them. That's completely different 2 Bayern who nullified barca & attacked them & wiped the floor with them. That's the point I was trying 2 make, Bayern added an extra element 2 what cfc, real etc had.
@170 The reason they got destroyed by Bayern was cos their system was built around 1 plyr -

@159 Abdi - Exactly. The main key being WHEN FIT. The times they've won trophies, they've had the help of mascherano, alves, villa etc. It is impressive, but never been 9, plus Puyol is due retirement & Valdes is leaving.
Not sure how u count Cesc as an academy player? Bradford might as well count Tom Cleverley as an academy player & Newell's for Messi. -

@156 Exactly. The form that Bielsa plays is not tiki taka & the football that Dortmund & Bayern play are also not tiki taka. Klopp says it himself that he has not copied barca or the tiki taka style. That's my point.
@157 I was suggesting that ur initial point, "because they are NOT worrying too much about how the likes of Barca will play" - On the contrary they do, but also work out how 2 attack -

@152 Lol u said Dortmund have adopted JM's methods 2 beat barca. Which is why I said Dortmund have never played Barca! Either way, they haven't adopted JM's style of play in the slightest!
@150 Well that's true, tho I'm sure they worked out on how 2 nullify barca (phase 1) & then counter (phase 2).

@147 Well for starters Dortmund have never played Barca so it's a bit of a silly comment 2 make!!!
Don't know who has the best record. JM has probably played them more times than anyone else, so I guess he should be best placed 2 work them out. Tho Heynckes is pretty good.
