Changes to this blog
If you comment on this blog then you may notice some changes. This is because the login system used for the comments is changing to a new BBC sign in system called BBC iD.
BBC iD is already in use on some other services, including the BBC iPlayer message board. All the BBC's blogs will be upgrading next week, and a small number of blogs, including Press Red, are upgrading this week to allow the technical team to ensure everything works smoothly.
If you've not registered with BBC iD before, you will be prompted to do so when you sign in. The process is relatively simple - just follow the instructions on screen.
Once you've upgraded your account, you will be able to comment on this blog as normal. Your old login will also continue to work as normal for other BBC services that have not yet been migrated.
There will be more information on BBC iD on the BBC Internet Blog later this week. In the meantime do leave your feedback in the comments below.

It would have been nice to know of the changes before they happened, I suspect that many may well have been utterly confused yesterday and this morning (before reading this blog) when they suddenly found no text-box below the blog/replies but whilst under the impression that they were logged-in. Again the people who pay the wages are the ones playing catch-up, being kept out of the loop!
Whilst the sports blogs, nor moderation policy are directly the responsibility of the "Red Button" team the subject under discussion is, could someone please have a quite word about the moderation times on the sports blogs, this comment and this comment have been waiting for over 24hrs (at the time of writing)...

Hi Boilerplated - I did originally hope to get the post up before the changes, however unfortunately events conspired against me (I got caught up in several important meetings!) and it just wasn't possible.

Seems a good idea to me.

Boilerplated, it was fairly obvious to pretty much everyone I think as to how to login and so on. Please don't carry your clearly anti-BBC agenda into every post.

Jugalug, if you draw that conclusion from what I said then you either have little grasp of English or you are trolling, please don't carry your own failing into this blog by trying to reflect them off someone else.
Oh, and for the record, no I'm not anti BBC, far from it, but neither is it correct all the time, unlike some though I don't feel the need to post "Nice one BBC" style comments unlike some. Nor did I have any problems up-dating my log-in details, my point was about suddenly finding that one wasn't logged in, design or fault, and the confusion that could have been caused - after all, many were logged-in, just on the wrong system!...

God, that was a bit of a pain. Seems to be the third or fourth time I've had to re-register here to comment!

Made it: I have one password for POV and another for here and SCD.
I'm not sure why one Id isn't enough.
Regarding pressing red: will there be other Maida Vale treats following Dame Kiri?

It all worked quite nicely for me I have to say. Don't think they did anything special for BBC staff!
If anyone has any specific comments or problems on BBC iD it's probably worth adding a comment on this blog post at the BBC Internet Blog - that way it will get through to the right people quicker.
