BBC Announces Partnership with You Tube

Post categories:

Chris Vallance | 11:11 UK time, Friday, 2 March 2007

Widely trailed in the press the BBC has announced a partnership with YouTube. It's obviously difficult to offer objective comment and analysis on something your own employer is doing. So why not jump in the comments and let P&B readers know what you think of the plan?

You can read all about it on the BBC's Press Office Website.

Although the BBC shows will get a lot of hits on YouTube, dont you think such a formal/national company would show its programmes on its own website first? The BBC website gets a lot of hits and by adding its own pgrammes to it it will get furthur more hits, ok maybe the BBC does not worry that much about hits but this is a large channel and by posting its videos on YouTube could dent its reputation?

This deal is just another case of the more you look, the less you see.

I like the idea and obliviously YouTube is hugely popular. Although it would be nice to support a more open source project such as Democracy Play?
