Unsung blogs of 2006
Just a reminder that we'd like your suggestions for unsung blogs and podcasts of 2006. Plenty of ideas already in the comments section of the original post, and plenty pointed out too us by bloggers we've interviewed, but we'd like to get a few more thoughts together for inclusion in the New Years day recording. So jump in the comments and tells us about your favourite blog that not many people have heard of.

Before talking about my favorite blogs. Here is a news about the private swearing in of the Governor Elect of Idaho. This is the first time that this has happened in Idaho's History.
My favorite blogs that have been unsung have been:
1. http://forasterodeohio.blogspot.com/
A Spanish Language Blog lampooning everything that is in American Continent [exceptions have been family, friends, and international broadcasters such as the BBC because the author of that blog respects and loves the BBC]
2. http://altarandthrone.blogspot.com/
This is a blog for American Monarchists. The author is a 25 year old individual from Washington State who thinks that the best solution in the USA would be a Monarchy.
3. http://nallforgovernor.blogspot.com/
A Blog by Former Libertarian Candidate for Governor of Alabama with her opinions on issues that commerical TV would not touch.
As I am writing, Oscar Haza ["A Mano Limpia"] interviewed the author of the book "Las Jineteras" [The Prostitutes] which talks about the rise in prostitution in Cuba. The programme also showed video footage of how to get a prostitute and the presence of a school for prostitues.
Maria Elvira Salazar of "Polos Opuestos" is showing the video from Cuban TV of Raul Castro in 1989 playing judge, prosecutor, and defender in the Ochoa Trial of 1989 on trumped up charges of drug smuggling [but in reality was an attempted military coup].
Very funny and brilliantly written:

You could do a lot worst than http://busdriverjimmy.blogspot.com/
which translates to "Driving a Bus", an excellent blog by Jimmy Hastell, a veteran podcaster and now a busdriver - the blog describes with great honesty and wit his experiences whilst learning to drive a bus and since...
My favourite unsung blog is City Slicker:
http://www.cityslicker1.blogspot.com
It is a daily blog about London life written by a former New Yorker. I love the combination of culture, politics, current events and just general piss taking. Always a laugh, always informative and always fun. It often feels like the musings of a close friend. I recommend it to every Londoner and any New Yorkers I know.
A great voice in the blog world!
Thanks,
Ella
I would have to nominate Horton's Folly ( http://hortonsfolly.blogspot.com/ )as my unsung blog of 2006.
Extremely funny although you're never sure exactly why. You can't really define it, but I'll try - it's a load of nonsense, VERY weird but very well written and actually quite clever. Sometimes pretty dark, but consistently funny and very, very silly.
Doesn't get a lot of traffic so isn't very well known. But it really should be! A strange little favourite of mine.
Hello
I was just wondering if the winners were aired and if there is any other outlet for these excellent unsung blogs listed here?
Thanks
Ella Morris
Hi Ella...we didn't have winners and losers, but we have put some of the suggestions on the radio over the past two weeks (click on the listen again link on the right) and we hope to feature a few more of these blogs over the coming weeks. So to answer your questions we'd love people to keep suggesting blogs that we might feature.
Best, Chris
