Blogsitting

Post categories:

Chris Vallance | 10:38 UK time, Friday, 15 September 2006

I suppose some people do think of their blogs as children but this "blogsitting" service may be taking it a bit far. I know daily posting is important but would you trust someone to baby-sit your blog? Of course for the really lazy perhaps some enterprising soul will think up the "Blog Au Pair" or the blog boarding school taking the tedium of regular posting out of your hands entirely.

Interesting concept. I have looked at blogs and comments as an extension of freedom. I have also looked at blogs as a way to visit the BBC [one of my favorite stations].

There's no point in having a blog in the first place if you are looking to hire a blogsitting agency for your blog. A blog is an online journal meant for personal or business use and nobody except the blog owner can understand the importance of maintaining his blog himself.

Agree with 2., there's really no point running a blog unless you plan to keep it updated. There are also tools for posting via email, phone, and remote Internet.

However, this could be an answer to the rash of personal blogs that only ever have two posts:

    1. "This is a test!!!"
    2. "Sorry I haven't posted for a while" (several months later)
