100 Jobs and other plans for next week.

Chris Vallance | 11:07 UK time, Wednesday, 20 September 2006

Here are some of the items coming up on next week's segment. As you can see there's still plenty of space for other ideas. If you've an idea that might make please leave a comment or send and email to podsandblogs@bbc.co.uk Anyway here's the list of what we have so far.

As you can see there's nothing so far on the Pope row or Thailand (more on that to follow), but it's hard to predict at this range what the news will be. Notes on our diaries are a likewise bit thin though I'm intrigued by The World Granny Festival highlighting the importance of older people in devleopment scheduled to start Tuesday. And it will be a big day at the Labour Party Conference of course so we should renew the plea for non-aligned bloggers with an interest in politics to get in touch.
UPDATE: The link to 100 Jobs was wrong in an earlier posting (Ctrl C/CtrlV problems) it's fixed now.

Yesterday [19-IX-2006], Oscar Haza's Round Table Programme on America Teve took a rest from Castro to comment on the rift between Catholics and Muslims in the USA and the world following Benedict XVI's Speech. The Guests were Father Alberto Cutie [Host of a Talk Show on the Catholic Stations: Radio Paz [Radio Peace] and EWTN [A Catholic Shortwave Radio and TV Station], a Professor of Theology from the Univeristy of Miami [who is an Atheist], a Rabbi, and a Representative from the Islamic School of Miami.

In the Round Table, there were discussions on how to reconcile Catholism and Islam. One proposal was a debate between leaders of the religious community to be held in Rome, or Istanbul.

Many people in Miami Florida are infuriarated with the Muslim Community because of the declarations of an Al Qaeda Leader in Iraq and the Ayatollah Khamenei with regard to what transpired in Pope Benedict XVI Speech. The President of Iran [and this was quoted in the Round Table] suggested that "some insiders wrote the Pope's Speech on purpose to create hatred and if that is the case, the Pope should offer a heart felt apology".

I was also reading Matt Frei's Article on Raul Castro with regard to lifting the embargo on Cuba. Many people having seen the President of Iran with Chavez and Raul Castro [on Cuban TV in Cuba and USA] have been against it. [I would like to inform BBC Five Live Up All Night that anyone in America can visit Cubavision or other aspects of Cuban Radio and TV on the Internet, some people can get Cuban TV via Satellite just as people in Cuba can get TV from Miami Florida].

It should be noticed that the Libertarian and Green Party of USA have declared themselves in favor of lifting the embargo against Cuba while at the same time asking Cuba and the United States to plan a "transition to a true democracy".

In Cuba, [according to RCI: Radio Canada International] The Group Arco Progresista [Progressive Rainbow] wrote a treatise which was circulated throughout La Habana. This Treatise challenges the Communist Regime in La Habana to a political opening in order to put into practice the principles that govern the Non Alligned Movement. In The Treatise, Arco Progresista asked for a political opening from Chavez [Venezuela], and Republicans/Democrats [USA].

I think I sent Pods and Blogs some photos of the businesses that are owned and approved by Washington and La Habana that permits people to flout the embargo by sending money to Cuba and organizing excursions to Cuba. If I have the photos, I will E Mail them to Pods and Blogs
