Yup I will. I was just thinking apropos nothing in particular but I was in Turku, Finland for a few days last year - along the Waterside too but I didn't see it. My eyes need testing I think - no offence anyone who drives Fork Lift Trucks. But that huge new ship - four football field long - over 6000 passengers safely carried - now ploughing the Seven Seas. Unlike the fork lift truck this VT which did not - how did I miss it? Oasis of the Seas - other ships are available for cruises. Perhaps it had already left to be furbished somewhere else? Goodness - I hope so! Where am I? lol
I've been in warehouses with racking like that, Jonnie. Sometimes they're linked across the aisles to give added stability. Shame it didn't work in this case!
Molly, I think it took off on its own - it looks empty. There's a funny smudge thing in front of it before it moves - like a figure has been rubbed out. Spooky.
I thought it reminiscent of Monday's chaos. Further spooky that the blog is having wobblies today.
Molly, I just watched it again with my son (knows how to drive one) who tells me they can't take off on their own and pointed out a chap getting in, while the other one is still in front of the one that crashes. Also, noting Lord N's comment @16, I suspect the spook is smoke.
I don't think that it took off on its own. If you look carefully you can see a guy moving behind the other truck. I'm pretty sure he get into the one that takes off.
According to The Telegraph, "The accident happens in a warehouse in Moscow filled with glass bottles of vodka and cognac...The driver apparently escaped with minor injuries to one of his legs, but the accident apparently cost the owners of the warehouse around £60,000."
Oh well, at least they could drown their sorrows while working out how to re-erect the shelving :)
And scanning through the comments at Boingboing (where the Telegraph got the story from), the video apparently reveals a catalogue of H&S disasters at the warehouse:
a) Apparently the forklifts are powered by an engine rather than electric, so shouldn't be used indoors anyway. b) Apparently you have to rev the engine to operate the forks - so if you don't fully engage the clutch and brake beforehand... c) Nowhere near enough cross-bracing on the shelves d) Shelving units not bolted to the floor
Oh, and the Huffington Post claims the driver had been sampling the warehouse contents beforehand...
Talking of forklifts, those with a squeamish disposition had better not watch this (subtitled) German forklift safety film - possibly one of the most graphic ever produced...

Like a pack of cards, from the pictures.

jonnie - Not really all that surprising. All those packages contained sets of dominos bound for the Christmas market.

Hope they kept the alum key for putting all that shelving back together...

Were those the parcels caught up in the postal strikes, awaiting delivery? Might take a while to sort that lot out.

Good grief! How awful but why do I find it so funnny?
It must have been a deliberate action by the driver, mustn't it?

AND they should see to tuning up the forklift's engine! Did you see that puff of black carcinogenic smoke?

Reminds me a little of the racking used in Booker cash and carry's -- now if that were the alcohol isle!

Warehouse? Nah. That was where the Blog's server is stored.

But worse disasters involving booze have happened in the past:
