    Ah, now I get it!

So all of these proposed bizarre new laws in the Queen's Speech to guarantee 'good' education, an end to child poverty, deficit reduction etc are actually all just a Mandelsonian (the new name for Machiavellian) ruse to introduce Bills which the tories will oppose, thereby allowing Gordo to go into an election campaign saying "See, the tories oppose our moves to guarantee good education, end child poverty, reduce the deficit etc..."

So it appears that the astute move for the tories faced with this is not to oppose the passage of these Bills. Should that happen though, the measures proposed in the Bills will presumably become increasingly ludicrous so as to force opposition. It could be a fun few months in politics...

Is the choice of Glass Box picture a hint that you're going to cover the next stage in the "Atheist Bus" advertising campaign? In this one, the posters show a child and a tagline of "Please don't label me, let me grow up and choose for myself" with various labels in the background along the lines of "Catholic child", "Marxist child", "Humanist child" etc.

I think it's a great idea coming as I do from mixed religion parents who did let me grow up and decide on my own beliefs.

...being in favour of getting out of Afghansitan
    ...opposing the war in Iraq
...wanting far, far more tax on the rich
...wanting idle old Etonians to get proper jobs

Instead this self perpetuating oligarchy, the political class based at Westminster, plans to foist its Tory wing on us for 5 years.

There are plenty of examples:- the Radio 4 theme tune and topically 'Thought for the day' . The one example that contradicts my theory was the Long wave move a few years back.
