The AM Glass Box

Good morning. How lovely to be back. There will be fireworks tonight.

You may have read your morning paper and listened to the radio, and have some ideas you want to hear on PM tonight.

Perhaps a question about something in the news you would like answered - or better still, direct experience of something topical. Or maybe there's an aspect to a big story you haven't heard explored that you would like to hear.

The PM team will meet in a real glass box at 11am. Why not be part of the meeting by sharing your thoughts in this virtual glass box?

And a former MoP and now Lord discussing the same subject on the Today programme - I quaffed my wine along to what I could swear was sobbing. Nah! perhaps it was just my slurps! I think that answers the query in the strapline of the above thread PM, no? Forklift truck incident. lol
Now PM – said French Foreign Minister who was reported being rude about one of our MoPs and his Party’s view on the EEU – I hope he is or was a medical man? French politician I mean. More please – I do admit the occasionally slight to those overseas but I feel slurred party I can NOW do business with now after my Fast was Brokered.
Buying a burglar alarm after the family silver has been stolen? Just said on the Today programme – as I was putting away the draft of my future nominee for Nobel Literary prize (“Mare Mall” is its new title – sorry Edward) – putting it away in the safe when the “send” button depressed itself at the same time. Odd I thought on the day I stopped for the umpteenth time posting on MyBook site. Stephen Fry had a brief break I understand from a similar site and I was following him. But that "send" button? Hmm. I know one can “bind” keys on certain platforms – I always default to Immortal mode in those shoot ‘em up arenas – I hates being shot up myself you know, wuss I be.
Too late to by a burglar alarm now I suppose?

I think that carbon trading is abiut as sensible as time zone trading (see my earlier post) We should divert ant available money into research for alternative and/or more efficient energy sources and use. If we want to give the fat cats and bankers an oppertinity to milk the system we should start a research grant trading scheme. It is a sad fact that too many people are only concerned with their own fortunes. We should also remember that if we took all of the money from all of the rich people it is unlikely to be enough to resolve the crisis.

    Too true, my friend.

All sensible people know that to get anything through in the European system you need allies. The larger the grouping you are in the more likely you will get your ideas accepted. Oh look, the Tories have aligned themselves into a small grouping.
Well, this means that to get any thing done means that Shamron will have to give away a lot.
Once again spin is being treated as fact, once again reality is being ignored for the sake of votes and keeping the Tory party together(until after the election).

It is common knowledge that they already have the powers they need to form something that looks like, walks like, and quacks like a federal state. This is why it was easy for Cameron to pontificate. If he was honest with him sen, he knows it won't happen while hes in power.

But, you have to look also at waht they would like to renegotiate. No doubt they will say it would be in the interests of the British public. What they really mean is mainly British Business interests and government social control. For instance, they would like to withdraw from the human rights act and much of the rulings that gave, for instance, pensioner parity, holiday pay for part-time workers, the fact that you don't have to work the hours employers would want, flexible working...and many rights and entitlements that would come under government (business) social control. Go figure!

Ref the conviction of 23 CIA in Italy

The conviction of 23 CIA operatives in Italy, and USA's refusal to extradite raises many questions. Have you got an international legal expert you can interview? Firstly, it’s surprising that Italy doesn’t have any extradition arrangements with USA. Does EU have an extradition treaty with USA? Apparently, the Berlusconi government won’t be pressing for extradition, but is it a political or judicial decision? As an EU member, shouldn’t UK be standing firm with it’s European members, by refusing the extradition of Gary McKinnon unless USA agrees to extradite the CIA convicts to EU (Italy)?

It seems to be all one-way. USA can demand extradition of Gary McK from UK; demand the extradition of the NatWest 3, demand extradition of Roman Polanski from Switzerland (non-EU), but isn't uilling to reciprocate.

New technology is so useful - from not knowing the piece at all 4 days ago, I've been able to look it up on You-tube, hear it played, download the music, & learn it, all without leaving the house. And without it costing anything (perfectly legally, I might add).
