Re:#2 lordBeddGelert It surprises me how many people I still see on the mobile phone whilst driving - and not stationary either. I think the penalties should be stiffer.

jonnie - the penalty could be death by firing squad, followed by having one's body cut into quarters and dipped into tar then exhibited on a gibbet by Wapping Wharf, but the fact is that so long as the law is not being enforced the deterrent effect is rather limited..
Also, there is a sign on a harbour near me "Swimming in the Docks is punishable by a fine of £ 50 ". I cannot help but think that if the fact they might catch any number of diseases then drown painfully is not going to deter them, a fine is not going to make a lot of difference either.
