AM GLASS BOX FOR FRIDAY

Post categories:

Sequin | 06:00 UK time, Friday, 10 July 2009

glassam1.JPG

Welcome to the AM Glass Box - your chance to help shape tonight's PM.

You may have read your morning paper and listened to the radio, and have some ideas you want to hear on PM tonight.

Perhaps a question about something in the news you would like answered - or better still, direct experience of something topical. Or maybe there's an aspect to a big story you haven't heard explored that you would like to hear.

Just as the PM Glass Box emulates the meeting we have AFTER the show, the AM Glass Box will be like the real meeting we have every day at 11.00, in that all ideas are welcome.

Just like the real meeting, most ideas that are suggested will not make it on air. But we would like to try this to see how it works. It's best that you make your suggestion before 10am.

Someone seems to be trying to serving stone cold two year old souffle allegedly. No evidence. Hearsay and some mysterious under seal evidence from another old settled case.

The starters are lining up nicely though. The celebrities Vanessa Feltz mentioned some of her friends were not famous lol no offence Ms Feltz but none of my are. But it is nice to here you visit our world for the occasional coffee TV and radio versions heard.

The celebrities who might have been hacked (apt word no?) the barristers who allegedly see a massive workload and several more pay days.

A barrister on BBCs Today radio show just now Stevens/Stephens (No Love For Johnnie refers) did his firm have the word Innocence/Innocent in it? Innocent? Lol

The MoPs can get together for some more jammie dodgers in endless meetings on how they were allegedly misled and the main political parties can tear strips out of each other. The suggestion that the DPP and Scotland Yard were at odds was a new wrinkle though Stevens/Stephens.

And all based on what the Guardian admit they have NO EVIDENCE for? Well done people. Well done.

I am sure I will hear more later today. In my own "Sphere of Influence".

Once again, David Bumblebee cut short a Lib Dem on Question Time. Sarah Teather tried to bring up Trident and Mr D said that it would be discussed later. Either I fell asleep, or it wasn't discussed. Does he think nobody notices when he does this?

Why are House of Commons Committees crossing into each others remits?

On this morning's news, it was announced the Defence Committee has urged the government to take a "hard-headed" approach to Moscow. That's Foreign Policy, not Defence! Don't they understand the difference?

The Defence Committee deals with matters to do with the Armed Services: expenditure, equipment, procurement, recruitment, etc. The Foreign Affairs Committee deals with foreign policy, diplomacy etc.

Are they trying to start a war with Russia? The Defence Committee chairman is James Arbuthnot MP. You might like to ask him why he's jumping across into other Committees responsibilities. Will his committee be looking into the Health Service next?

    Ref my post #3 /continued

The Defence Committee chairman is urging Britain should "Get tough with Russia" because of the Georgia incident last summer. Does James Arbuthnot not realise what a hypocrite he's being? If we "get tough" with Russia over Georgia, they are likely to get tougher with us over Iraq. And we've a lot more explaining to do than they have. They were in and out in less than a fortnight.

He shut Teather up because the Lib Dems had clearly smuggled a groan up onto the Schoolkids' Panel. Being very little doesn't cut it.

What is the word from the DPP?

Please can we bring our poor young personnel back from Afghanistan before any more die?
I found out about the Iraq War demo in London (Feb 2003) from the BBC, a week or so before it. Are there political campaigns associated with the Afghan War that we should be told about?

NO! It is essential that we keep large garrisons in Afghanistan and Iraq until the drip-drip allegations of Iranian weapons of mass destruction have made the idea an accepted part of our mental furniture. Otherwise we will have no bridgehead to threaten and enter Iran. This would be disastrous as, otherwise, the Iranians may cause difficulty when we start trying to put pressure on the ex-Soviet Muslim states. We need these people to be dangerous and undemocratic to claim moral ascendancy over oil-producing states. What are you? Some kinda commie?

Google "Stop the War Coalition." The next protest is on Monday I think. Will paste link on next post, in case it gets moderated.

The real problem for the opposition is that it doesn't have a majority.

Sadly that doesn't seem to prevent some in the West from hoping they take power.
