Here's a question to get you going: How can a first time poster get away with posting spam like this?

When I first posted here my posts were moderated so I don't understand how so much of this stuff gets through.

Your link took me to "Speaker Week day Three" where there are two posts, the first of which has been removed.

    Was that the one..?

    Charlie,

I think it was the one that was removed that 88 was referring to. It was spam and I think he was saying how can that not go through pre-moderation if its a new blogger? It had a link on it. Obviously, the mods don't click the link to check it. I guess they wait till someone refers it?

    funnyjoe, I think you're right.

Might be a good point to ask for the "mod" spot tomorrow..?

Charlie, 2 - funnyJoedunn has it exactly right. My link is to the first message by haroldbrown2009.

I didn't click on the link either (why should I risk my PC security - that after all is why the BBC add their "you're leaving the BBC" message) but it looks like pretty obvious spam to me, so even if the moderators are just reading the message I don't know how it couldn't ring some alarm bells for someone who moderates messages all day.

I wonder, could this situation be explained? From today's "Speaker Week Day Three" thread. Where, I was quite correctly, corrected for mis-understanding the thread's purpose:

Charlie @ 17, I think the vote is for the ideas, not for whether the individual who has those ideas ought to be Speaker.

Me at 21 wrote "Ah..." In response to your post.

But, I see I've been "Moderated". Well there's always tomorrow..!

Anyway, I should add that it's not only Mr Dyke who may not:
    "sweat-the-small-stuff"

If you see what I mean, about myself...

    1. The mods thought it was a Foreign Word. Words in Foreign are the ne plus ultra for mods.

    2. The mods thought that the dots replaced letters which, if spelled out in full, would turn Ah... into a Dirty Word.

I wonder if this will get modded?

fJd @ 12, no, I was trying to find out whether the mods were one stop beyond East Ham.

I conclude that they are, since they didn't remove post #11.
