1220 UPDATE from PA: "Tory MP Douglas Hogg today announced he will not stand at the next election, following controversy over his expenses."

1235 UDPATE from PA: "Prime Minister Gordon Brown said today no MP who had defied the rules on expenses will be allowed to stand as a candidate for the Labour Party at the next election."

1245 UPDATE from BBC NEWS: "BBC Scotland understands that constituency labour officials in Michael Martin's Glasgow constituency are preparing for a by-election over the summer"

1356 UPDATE from PA: "Scotland Yard will not investigate the leaking of details of MPs' allowances and expenses to the Daily Telegraph newspaper, the Metropolitan Police said today."
