Is the Centre for Economic Business Research really working on Boxing Day - or is this just (shameless) self publicity?!!

Morning Everyone, or rather both of you,

Thanks to all those who listened on Boxing Day. Obviously not a huge amount around, so there was rather a lot of stuff we'd already got in the can. I hope it worked for you.

Nikki, the CEBR were out and about on Boxing Day. Their man was on the Today programme live at 8am... but maybe the report hadn't actually been complied on Christmas Day. And the British Retail Consortium chap was on 5 Live in the morning... and on PM in the afternoon.

Hope you all had good Christmases.

    Rog

Rog. 'Morning. I was pleased to see the CEBRals out and about on this otherwise day of underwhelming stuff. But don't take it to heart. BBC has been excellent over the jols. But don't tell Ed. I think Frances wants a word with you over on the ipm page.

It was Agony! Last nights PM!

No. It really wasn't but I was testing out the word "Agony" as it screams at one from the magazine stand in supermart. I was intrigued. Two celebs had what they called "agony" about something but they put aside their pain to tell the world about their torment.

When I hear Eddie on PM - I am wanting to do that - but it is normally irritation at "more bad news" Nils or a guests comment - "SHAC" the other day but I resisted - or amusement. Eddie again but I am sure he will get better at it - presenting that is. lol

And OK - just occasionally - like yesterday - voicing agreement of a good show - very little to change.

Then the words were uttered by Sequin.

    "I quite agree"!

I was in a quandary. I didn't feel I could comment "about" anything. Quiet, Steelie boy.

But was I in agony? If I were, celebrities - I personally wouldn't want to say anything. Just sit down and suffer - until (like the alleged work shy say about feelings for the need for activity or - gulp - work) "the feeling went away again"

On reflection, though Carolyn. Those three MoPs talking heads on events in 2008?

    I was in - er - different!

    Roger,

thankyou for your post!!! I appreciate you taking the time.

I had missed the Today programme on Boxing Day morning. As you suggest, "maybe the (CEBR's) report hadn't actually been complied on Christmas Day".

In which case, somebody decided to run with in on BBC News / the BBC Today programme prior to the christmas break . Possibly taking a gamble that the news would show a Disappointing Turnout at the Boxing Day Sales. However, there were queues of up to 1000 folk outside various stores, as reported in Manchester on PM.

This juxta position of stories - one preplanned and one 'live' - appeared to be unfortunate.

This isnt a gripe at you, or at the PM programme - maybe I ought to email BBC News Chiefs instead!!!

I hope you have managed to get a bit of a break in between working over the festive season!
    Cheers!!

I last saw "Christmas" available at a 70% discount in my local Woolworths store.

Yesterday, the store closed-down and "Christmas" was gone.

If you held a "Post" in that Woolworths store then, I'm afraid, your "Post" has also now gone.

    Never to return.
